Don't plan on getting any rest

Posted Nov 28, 2016
Holy crap. I came into town to meet some friends and get some peace and quiet. Days Inn had other plans for me. Housekeeping knocked at 10 am (that was my fault, forgot to put the sign on the doorknob), but at 10:01 I was greeted by the incessant banging of hammers and chattering of workmen. This went on for hours. The phone rings, it's housekeeping wanting to know when they can come clean the room. I eventually packed up and went to a local coffee shop to get my work done. When I came back my room key was deactivated. The room looked nice, too bad it was impossible to enjoy.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how your stay was. We apologize for the housekeeping staff knocking on your door so early, we also apologize for the banging of the construction workers, we have tried to notify all of our guests regarding the noise beginning about 10am daily. Sorry you were unable to enjoy your stay. We hope you may come back again once all the construction and renovations have been completed and enjoy a peaceful stay.

Pros: The only thing that was good about the hotel was that there was a good Sushi restaurant near by.
Cons: It was filthy, smelled of bug spray and bathtub looked like it had blood stains.Tiny and we couldn't sleep from the loud sound of truck engines.

First thank you for having chosen the Days Inn for your travel needs, secondly for taking the time to let us know how your stay was. There may have been some dust issues due to the renovations, bug spray smell I will look into what the exterminators are using, and as for the red stains in the tub, oh yea, we are having the tub refinished, it was not blood but bright red nail polish, we tried to get all of it out, but it stained the tub, and I can only apologize for the noise there is not much I can do about the traffic, except if you should ever want to stay again if you are in the area, I can suggest that requesting a room in the back of the hotel may be better suited away from the noise. Awful - construction dust and debris everywhere

Posted Sep 12, 2016
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Guests should at be warned that the hotel is undergoing renovations, to make an informed choice. There are multiple other hotels in the area.
Location: Location was convenient to our destination visiting family at the hospital nearby.
We booked a room for four people with two double beds for 2 nights and when we arrived the first night were shocked at dust and debris everywhere from construction. Lots of dust coming in from outside through AC units, large dust bunnies all over the room and rusty shower drain. Room was very tight -- hardly any room to walk around the beds. And when we decided to cancel our second night at the hotel, we were told that would be ok, but that the refund would have to come from Expedia. We were assured that we would get money back for the second night both by the person on duty at night, and by the person who had been on duty at night and the next morning when we checked out. When we called Expedia for a refund, we were told that the hotel would have to approve, and that they were not approving. That we should speak to the manager, who would not be there until Monday. To boot, one of us left behind some pajamas, and when we called to see if housekeeping had turned them in, we were put on hold to "check with housekeeping," only to be told by a second person who had just come on duty that there was no way to check with housekeeping. All staff that was contacted basically gave us the run-around.

Please except my apologies on behalf of the staff, I am the GM at the property, and am trying to change the lost and found issue. However, since I just began I can not take control of what happened prior to my arrival except to apologize for any issues during your stay. I would hope that maybe in the future you would consider staying again once the renovation process has been completed. I understand the issue regarding the dust from the construction, and have hired a completely new housekeeping staff. Wendy

Most terrible experience at Days Inn ever

Posted Aug 27, 2016
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Firstly, the people at the reception needs to learn to be polite to customers. The maintenance guy should be around for emergency
I have stayed in Days Inn numerous times but I have never had such an experience at Days Inn before. The staff at the reception were rude/clueless about anything i asked. They gave me a room with stained linen and also there was no hot water. No maintenance guy was around to fix the problem. The breakfast was OK.

Our Days Inn stay, Newark, DE

Posted Aug 26, 2016 on Hotels
Room appeared to be refurbished/redecorated VERY recently; very comfortable, clean and nicely done, including a flat screen tv. Only 2 minor complaints: mattress + pillows were a bit hard, and stairway from 2nd floor down to sidewalk was UNlit. When we came back to room after dark, and left very early the next morning, the stairway was very dark and therefore hazardous.

This was an average place to stay, I was not happy that the TV stopped working and I couldn't catch up on my morning news.
