University of DE graduation/Memorial Day weekend

Pros: Comfortable room, free wi-fi
Cons: Services
Location: Many attractions/ Wintethur, Longwood Gardens, wineries, the University of DE.
The continental breakfast was not complete on the day of graduation; no coffee, juice or hot food. While the room was clean, the outside of the building needs some work; paint, concrete repair.

Dear Cate: We apologize for the problem with breakfast, there was a power surge that no-one could foresee or prevent, We appreciate that your room was clean and we will share that with the housekeeping staff, as for the outside of the building, we were working on that, with a busy weekend we did not want any unnecessary equiptment on the property, it should be finished in few weeks. We hopy you will stop and visit again if you are ever back in the Newark Delaware area. Have a happy and Safe Summer.

Choose something else in the area

Facility is in horrible disrepair. Smoke smell everywhere. Did not feel entirely safe. Curtains closed, thank goodness, because all who walked by could see in. Drapes were dirty. Shower trickled. Fuse blew at breakfast leaving room dark with limited offerings. Will not choose Day's Inn anywhere in the future - sorry

Dear Anonymoous: We are truely sorry for any issues you incurred during your stay. We are in the process of renovating the exterior of the building but did not want the machinery around this busy weekend. We are working on the curtain cleaning issue, we were not able to get every room done before this past weekend, and we apologize about breakfast, we had no control over a power sure, and got maintenance correcting the issue as soon as it happened. Thank you we hope dispite all you had a good Memorial Weekend, and would llike to have youvisit againif ever back in the Newark Delaware area.

Needs a big renovation project

Would not return. No hot water. Empty vending machines. Loud neighbors in room next door. Could not have the breakfast that was included because everything was out of order.

Dear Anonymous: Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback about your stay. We apologize for the empty vending machines, the companies did not come and replenish and we contacted them about that, the loud neighbors we are sorry they made to much noise, if we had been told about them we would have gone and spoke to them, about breakfast we are truley sorry, the power surge was not something we had control over and we had maintenance working on it as soon as we could possibly get them here. We are doing renovations, the outside is the last issue that needs to be completed, we felt the inside of the hotel was more important. We hope you may come and visit so that we my exceed your expectations.

Found hair in coffee in breakfast room. Also, the attendant of breakfast room commented out loud about news shown on the television and her personal political opinions - this was irritating while trying to have some peace at breakfast time.

My Stay At Day's Inn

This was an overnight stay and it was pleasant one. I have stayed here before and each experience has been great. The staff was helpful and check in and out was quick.

Never stay here

Hotel staff was rude and slow. Went to my room which smelled of cigarettes and weed (supposed to be non smoking) waited an hour to get the cable fixed in my room all to be moved to another room, which is what i asked for in the first place. Staff was inconsiderate and spent time talking to each other quite loudly.

days inn

It's a Days Inn off the highway. Staff was pleasant, room was just fine. I would stay there again.

The stay itself was fairly good. However I was very disturbed to learn the clerk copied my ID and credit card, therefore I alerted my bank and changed my card information.

Dear Janeen: I understand your concerns, you made your reservation through a 3rd party so we did not have your credit card, the front desk copied your credit card for incidental purposes only, had they swiped the credit card through the banking system it would have automatically authorized your card for $100.00 which you would have gotten back in about 5-15 business days which could have caused some issues , once they add your card number to the reservation communications field your copes are then shredded, I will be speaking to the front desk regarding this issue, and do retraining as well, We hope you may visit again.

Disappointing front office service

I requested a king suite with a pull out couch but the room didn't have sheets, pillows or covers for the extra bed. I went to the office to get some but they didn't have any in stock. They said they would bring me some from the laundry room in a few minutes. Half hour went by and nothing. I called the front desk three times and three times I was put on hold because they were busy checking in guests. My husband ended up going back to the office and there weren't any guests checking in.

We want to apologize that our rooms did not meet your expectations, and apologize as well that our front desk did not respond to your request in a timely manner. We will be speaking to them and doing some retraining in customer service, as well and speaking to our housekeeping staff to have the rooms with sofas to have the extra supplies needed to make up the beds in a drawer in the dresser.
