Nice view

Would have been much better if room decor was updated. Very dark and unattractive but nice bathroom.

Great location, beautiful views, lovely pool. Have stayed here many times and would go back in a heartbeat!

Hilton Hotel in Downtown Wilmington

Pros: location
Cons: That LVT flooring in the rooms takes away from the warmth of the space.
Location: Lots to do within walking distance.
This property was not particularly impressive, as Hilton properties go, but I did have a comfortable stay.

Well located on river right in town.

Pros: Location on river and close to town.
Cons: Housekeeping. Older rooms need to be refurbished. Don't expect a mildew smelling room as a Hilton.
Been there before but this time was a disappointment. First room they gave us smelled of mildew. Told them we would not accept it. Second room much nicer but poorly located over lobby. Room never got made up. By the time we returned in the evening we were too tired to wait for them to get some one to clean the room. Made the bed ourselves and told them to just bring us clean towels. Always enjoyed our stay on previous visits which makes the poor service this time all the more disappointing. We will give it another try in the future but if it is anything like this visit it will be the last time.

willmington trip

Cons: staff
Location: trolley tour, restaurants
the location was great. the staff was less than helpful and really didn't show much knowledge about the area. couldn't answer simple questions, like where is the trolley? no breakfast, no fridge...a lot of money for very little

Great price for the location

The room was small..2 not so double beds for 3 people and for the price, I would have thought the rooms would be larger. The rooms and the hotel do need some updating, however, the location was perfect and most everything was within walking distance to shops and dining. About a 20 min car ride to Wrightsville Beach, so location was great and for the price we'd stay here again. The staff was wonderful, from check in to valet and bell service, everyone was awesome!

Location is great and that's about it

The location was great and the river view was amazing. That's about it though. We were welcomed to a strong smell of fresh paint when getting off the elevator that was still there 20 hours later. The room was small and the shower tiles weren't level and felt like stepping on sharp rocks. The cleaning service even knocked on the door at 9am asking when we we're checking out. The walls are thin and heard the man in the room coughing all night.

Old and dirty

I booked this hotel hoping for a romantic stay with my boyfriend, but it turned out to be a huge regret. I booked the "city view" room hoping for a beautiful view of downtown Wilmington, but instead received a cigarette scented room facing grimey air conditioning units. The room also had dated decorations, and appeared slightly dirty. There were pen scribbles on the lamp shade. I asked for a different room, and the staff was very accommodating and moved me to a higher floor. The view was slightly better but still nothing special. The king bed was very sunken in the middle so we may as well have been sleeping on a twin bed. This hotel is very very old and has nothing going for it. Definitely not what I was expecting from a Hilton. Please take my advice and book elsewhere downtown if you're in between decisions. I was telling my boyfriend the free parking was the best part about the stay until I received a bill for $11 per day at the end, which is fine but still made me laugh a little.
