The Hotel du Pont is by far the best place to stay in Wilmington.

Dissapointing Hotel

Posted Jan 4, 2016
Pros: Old Charm
Cons: Renovation and Upgrades badly needed.
Location: this was the ONLY choice we had in the 4.5 star range in Wilmington.
The Hotel has Old Charm such as the Green room Dining Room. However The rooms need serious update not only look wise also Plumbing is terrible such as broken Toilet Flushing. Staff Not Flexible at all Top Down. Could not get any flexibility to upgrade even though the Hotel was almost empty as well as not discount for inconveniences such as broken toilet etc..

Pros: Beautiful and comfortable
Cons: Toilet paper
Location: Historical area
Everyone offered help from valet, bell hop, bar man Beautiful lobby. Room was very elegant suite with very nice bath My husband compared it to a Las Vegas hotel suite The bar is a warm snug of a room with a bar man who makes excellent drinks.

Nice hotel with rude staff

Posted Dec 23, 2014
I stayed in one of the suites. Beautiful room with gorgeous views. Half of the lights wouldn't turn on. My room didn't come with bottled water like some of the other guests in my party's rooms did. I called down to the front desk and they sent up room service with water. When I explained to the girl that I didn't want to pay for water I just wanted the complimentary water she told me I needed to take it up with housekeeping. The "not my problem" attitude is something I can't stand. The room water comfortable and beautiful, but the staff needs upgrading.

Gorgeous historic hotel for a wedding

Posted Nov 3, 2014
I stayed for the weekend with a large wedding party and attended a black-tie reception in their ballroom. What a fantastic place for an event! Beautiful, ornate building and interior decorations, good food, friendly staff. I would recommend it without hesitation.
