Roaches

Infestation of Roaches everywhere. This is and should be totally unacceptable from any Howard Johnson facilities. This is extremely hard to deal with when you are told you can't get a refund.

One night stay

Pros: price
Cons: Staff should check to be sure everything is working; have instructions for operating the TV,more variety and freshness for the breakfast.
Location: On Market street,close to I-40, near mallssome good restaurants, and American Legion where we were going for the Model train show.
It was clean and comfortable. Alarm clock was broken.Breakfast was minimal,bagels not fresh,no fresh fruit. Coffee was good.

It was close to where ny daughter stay. Hotel staff was nice and polite and very helpful. The room was adequate and tv was ok..

Terrible condition, stay only if you must!

This "hotel" was a travesty. As soon as you enter the room you're greeted by a terrible smell, the AC was loud and ok at best, stains all over the shower tub, it looked so bad I was afraid to step in and take a shower for fear of catching something. Overall, if you need to crash somewhere close to downtown but can't or don't want to pay the price for better quality then this is an option. I guess its better than nothing.

Great Location for Shopping and the Beach

Pros: Location is good.
Cons: Customer Service. Needs New Maid Service. and It's currently going through a renovation.
Location: Not far from Wilmington's Historical Down Town Center, Board walk. Convenient to I-40, UNCW, Wrightsville Beach and the Mall, shopping all around
The Location of Hotel is very good. Shopping all around and not far from the beach. Convenient. However. that's the good part. My sisters and I booked 2 rooms and both rooms were dirty when we got there at 530pm that evening. We asked for other rooms and the lady at the front desk said, they were going through a re-model and all the rooms were the same. So we went to the store and cleaned the rooms ourselves. The front desk clerk did provide us with clean sheets. and pillow cases so we re-made the beds ourselves. We didn't know the Hotel stay was self service. Both rooms smelled musty and old. Once we used our cleaning supplies that helped the smell. Until the Hotel completes there renovations, I definitely wouldn't suggest staying here at least until then.

Decent hotel

The hotel was OK for the price that we paid. The only real issue was that we were unable to connect to their free wifi.
