Hotel was being refurbished in reception and lounge area only. No mention of this before the stay and it seemed to affect service. Delayed check-in, abrupt Asian receptionist was not coping well with situation which reflected on her tone with customers. No "Good Morning" from receptionist next day when passing main desk. Asked for two lamps to be changed in room which were not working and this took until 3.30pm the next day only after constantly chasing reception (fault reported 6.00pm evening before). Also bottles and glasses left in corridor by other rooms were there 24 hours later which was disgraceful. Car parking was charged at £3.00 per day which was a surprise from previous years, poor value as many car park street lights were not working and this was dangerous. King size bed was reserved but 2 single mattresses were given joined by a sheet to make it look like a King, not happy with this at all as the gap made it uncomfortable. Overall the hotel is struggling with service and needs urgent improvement, I would also like to be compensated.
