Excellent hotel for location and one of best we've stayed at over the years. Building work in the garden marked then down this time around, but when completed, it will excel. Highly recommended

Quiet weekend stay. Ground floor room which the local cat seemed to take a liking to, miaowing outside in the middle of the night! Charging for cooked breakfast on top of continental offering seemed churlish. Ongoing building works riverside, so delivery lorries were getting stuck in the narrow approach to the car park.

Unique features close to city centre

Pros: Historic building, view from the breakfast room, location
Cons: The continental breakfast is included as standard and they try and up-sell to the full English. Why not just include the full English!?
Location: Just on the edge of Salisbury city centre, over looking the river, lots to see and do and a short drive from the New Forest.
You get a choice of rooms that could feature a river view terrace or our choice on this visit the suite with a four poster bed. Great space, historic features, very cosy, and a top location.

Christmas market

Pros: Everything ,nothing not to like.
Cons: Our bathroom needed a little tlc but nothing major.
Location: Close 10 min walk into centre of Salisbury and the attractions nearby but I should imagine in the summer just to sit in the garden and relax ,great!!!
Only stayed one night whilst visiting the Christmas market, hotel and staff welcoming and our room was in the old part and was full of character. Sadly didn't meet up with the ghost. Our evening meal was delicious with a choice of the Christmas menu or A la Carte and we were able to join in the festivities being held in the hotel . Staff could not do enough for you and were good for a laugh . Look forward to our next visit.

Location: Lovely position. Overlooking river. Easy and interesting walk into town centre past cathedral. We particularly like eating at cote brasserie.
This is our second visit, and we have enjoyed both stays. Spacious room, comfy bed. Quiet setting with lovely views. Helpful staff. Would have liked a small fridge for medical reasons.
