A travel back in time

Posted May 16, 2017
Pros: Location, setting, service..
Cons: Rooms could use some freshening up. The
Charming town. Room: a time travel trip - Authentic vintage furnishings in very large room take you back to Victorian times. The staff helpful, friendly and efficient. Good menu for light fare from the Bar. Nice complementary breakfast.

Nice hotel

Posted May 3, 2017
One does not expect an historic hotel to be shiny bright and new. But, one would expect to find excellent upkeep. Things are getting a bit dreary. The dining area is the best. Lovely appointments. The pub is fun and as it would be expected. Would recommend because I like antiques and history.

The property could use some upgrading, but it was clean and the staff was very friendly.

Quiet and quaint

The hotel is essentially a time capsule, so don't expect a lot of technological creature comforts. If you appreciate history and historic structures, then Hotel Strasburg is absolutely perfect. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

The idea of a historic hotel for our short stay seemed interesting. Just appeared that some modern upgrades could be introduced without losing the olde worlde charm(e). Two things that stick out are that the wifi was not accessible and the old bed spread. Also I'm not a great fan of pet friendly hotels that don't offer the option of a non-pet friendly room. Sorry for being a grump, but hope my comments can also be useful to the management.

Beautifil 1903 hotel not maintained well

Posted Jan 25, 2017 on Orbitz
Mold on bathroom floor going inches up the wall just oldside shower stall. Very hard King size mattress. $20 up charge per night after paying Orbitz in full plus $30.13 charge for incidentals (they claim will be credited in the future). Recommended to us by someone who stayed a couple of years ago (they had no extra fee and nice room) we stayed on 3rd floor of main building. Showed Orbitz receipt showing we paid for a King size bed on-line, but they said only the bookmaker could correct the situation and she doesn't work on weekends.
