From the moment we arrived the front desk person made us feel very welcome and at home. She was very knowledgeable about the walkable areas and restaurants. The room was excellent and the beds were comfortable. The lounge had an excellent singer that we enjoyed immensely. Would highly recommend this hotel. Even joined the Wyndam rewards as a result!

We really like uniqueness of the property. It's a grand old lady. The furnishings are beginning to show wear. Lots of nicks and scuffs on the wood. Some rooms don't have full length mirrors. The toiletries are nearly impossible to squeeze out. That's irritating. The bar is great and they do have really good live entertainment. It's very walker friendly with plenty to do near by. It's our go to place to stay.

Very nice Hotel and very inexpensive, The parking is not optimal but we always got a space and the restaurant is a Pizzeria Uno with a very limited menu. There are convenient restaurants within walking distance so I would suggest you check those out. I would definitely recommend the hotel and will be staying there again in the fall.

We were greeted not only with a smile, remembering us from our last visit, but, when checking in, and mentioning what museum we'd be heading to, the concierge gave us free admission tickets! WE LOVE THIS HOTEL! So accommodating, Amen!

this was not at all a handicap accessible room as advertised. the bathroom toilet seatcwas not raised . standard shower and tub with only a few hand bars added. bed was too high to access from a wheelchair and a heavy woodeb frame protruded 4In all around base oof bed. room had. multiple heavy pieces of furniture that impacted movement of the wheelchair

This is a solid, comfortable older hotel with an attentive, customer-friendly staff. We have stayed there several times because it is located within easy walking distance of Old Town Winchester with its walking street and many restaurants and shops. The only unfortunate downside to our room, which was otherwise fine, is that the heating system on the very cold night we stayed was very loud and not conducive to a good night's sleep. Although we had the system set to a modest and reasonable 70 degrees F., it turned on often, was loud and did not make for a good night's sleep. In short -- this is a very good hotel, but especially on nights when the outdoor temperature is well above freezing.

Hair on wall in shower
My husband and I stay at the GW at least 5-6 times per year. We always get the jr suite. I appreciated the updated showers. But when I got in, there was a clump of hair on the wall of the shower from a previous guest. I expect something like that from a Super 8 hotel. Not from The GW. Very disappointed.

AMAZING!
Stay was amazing, super clean, smelled AMAZING in the hallways, great food options, comfortable bed, pretty pool, enjoyed the hot tub, truly wonderful for the price. Will deffinetly be staying again, was attending a concert at bright box and it was a short convenient walk. Staff was nice and very welcoming.

My favorite hotel. Everything is top notch. Walk over to the walking mall for amazing food, drink, and shopping. Beautiful pool, great food and drink on site.

We really liked the property and the surrounding area. Very cute and walkable. Lots of dining and pub options. The staff was nice and the hotel was nice as well. The only issue we had was that from 9:00am on a staff member would walk down the hall and knock on each door yelling "housekeeping!", checking to see if anyone checked out. this got to be super irritating. Other than that everything was good.

Wonderful Historic Hotel!
A wonderful hotel that really gives old world luxury a proper go of it. The rates are also reasonable for luxury suites.

Okay but not worth the money
The room was a bit over priced. Also the temperature in the room kept getting hotter and hotter thermostat did not change temp. It was very difficult to sleep.
