Delightful Birthday TreatPosted Jan 15, 2018
Pros: Everything, excellent staff, nothing was too much trouble! Tastefully decorated, very clean and tidy. Nice spa and food was amazing.
Cons: Nothing with regards to stay but sent a couple of emails that needed chasing.
Location: 10 min walk from the heart of Winchester, walking distance to all the tourist attractions.
We had a lovely welcome from the receptionist She couldn't have been more helpful as well as checking us in, she asked us if we would be walking to the town center and then gave us a map and showed us the route. We were delighted to received an upgrade, first time for us and was very much appreciated. The hotel is very tastefully decorated especially the restaurant, bar and reception area. Our room was modern, very clean and had everything we needed. The hotel is ideally situated just a 10 minute walk into the heart of Winchester. We were advised to park in the public car park in the front of the hotel and basically we left our car there for the whole weekend. No charge after 8pm or for Sunday, £7.70 for Sat. We used the spa facilities, small but nice and we both had massages which were amazing and felt just right. Now leaving the best to last, the food was amazing one of the nicest buffet breakfasts we've had and we ate in the restaurant on our first night (hubby's birthday) evening meal was superb and we hadn't mentioned my husband's birthday to the restaurant but reception obviously had as they came out with a lovely plate with chocs on and happy birthday written in choc, such a lovely touch. We will definitely be going back to this hotel, excellent staff that made our stay so enjoyable.

Good locationPosted Nov 26, 2017
Location: Centre of Winchester in walking distance
Pool and Spa areas were a little tired which was disappointing as this was a main reason for booking the hotel. Hotel parking was more expensive than the public carpark outside of the hotel - would expect the hotel to have free or cheap parking.

Very smart hotelPosted Nov 22, 2017
Relaxing upmarket hotel. Very clean with modern decor. Bar area and restaurant very good. The inside is better than you expect. I didn’t like having to pay car park charges to park.

good hotelPosted Nov 20, 2017 on Ebookers
good hotel but let down by breakfast. eggs swimming in grease, butter floating in water. the hot buffet does not seen to be refreshed, the food looks like it had been standing there a couple of hours.

Well very irritable staff at the front desk when I got there . She raised her voice on me her collègue denial her behaviour. She said it was not like that but apologise for her at the bar the young man was too busy chatting away. I went for a second time for my glass of water and it took a while for my meal to arrive.
