Ok overall, but needs improvement.
We were in northern VA to celebrate our tenth anniversary. We booked the jacuzzi King suite. Upon entering there was a combo musty, cat odor. The property allows pets, so maybe the previous people had a car with them. Three carpeting likely absorbs and retains a lot of humidity from the hot tub. As you can see in the photo our shower was peeling pretty badly, with fresh pieces apparent. The kitchenette was underwhelming. We had to bring the plates to the front desk as they were encrusted with food debris. The utensils were mismatched and disproportionate. The breakfast was adequate: scrambled eggs, waffle maker, biscuits with gravy, bacon one day out of 4, sausage patties the rest. Bananas one day out of 4, apples everyday. Oatmeal was not refilled at all. We had no hot water the last day and a half, bouts of occasional warm, thus no hot tub the last couple days and no showers the day we left. Front desk was congenial enough. I work in the hospitality industry for close to 25 years, so I'm generally more forgiving on certain things but also have a higher standard in other regards. Overall our stay was pleasant with no major disruptions, but for the price and the things I've mentioned, I don't think I'd stay at a Wingate property in the future. Book with confidence, but perhaps lower your expectations compared to some of these cheerleader reviews. Be well.
