More like a motel

Pros: Wi Fi service was good. The staff was friendly. The location was good.
Cons: I am not sure how the rooms could be freshened and the utilities improved.
Location: Nice location convenient to town, the highway, and services.
A nice operator was available for any issues. The room had a musty feel. There was no way to get natural light in the room without loss of privacy. We had embarrassing plumbing problems with the toilet. There was no safe. It was nicely located outside of Brattleboro. The breakfast was okay but we preferred to get quality food in town.

Thank you for your review. We are a motel, and have many photos of the property inside and out to accurately depict that. We are glad you thought the wifi service was fast and reliable and the staff helpful and friendly. We realize that there is a desire to get natural light in the room without losing privacy-we are in the process of replacing the drapes and looking into some sheers that will let do just that. The maintenance department has been alerted to the issues with the toilet in your guest room. Thank you for your feedback.

Non-smoking room smelled like smoke, mattress was ok, but pillows were too few and uncomfortable. Good for one night, but would not stay longer.

Thank you for your feedback. Our guest rooms are non smoking and we strictly enforce the smoking policy here in Vermont that rewuires guests to smoke away from doors, windows and public access ways. We do have a nice outdoor picnic area for designated smoking. Unofrtunately, from time to time, people may ignore the rules, which is not always under our control. We have brand new carpetting throughout and have repainted ceilings, walls etc. to remove any past smoking odors. Our sincerest apologies that your guest room had an odor. The housekeeping staff has been made aware, and we have put an ozonator in the room to remove any lingering odors. We use three pillows on our full beds and four on the king bed rooms. We will switch out the pillows in the guest room you stayed in, as we just purchased new down alternative fluffy pillows! Thank you again for your review, try us again to see the continued improvements here.

bad time in black mountain inn

it was bad i would not go back the bed was hard the microwave was dirty when we got there and the breakfast was to be desired and if you make changes to your reservation you have to pay more

We are disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your stay. Our beds are KingKoil and most guests rave about the comfort. We strive hard to be a great value for our guests, and our continental breakfast includes hot and cold cereal, bagel, english muffins, hard boiled eggs, make your own waffles, fresh fruit, applesauce and more. Considering our price point, we feel it is more than adequate, but understand that your expectations may have exceeded what we can offer. Our reservations are held due to specifications that you made, if there are any changes and we can accomodate them free of charge upon check in we will. However, extra rooms, extra beds and people are customary for an additional charge.

Great Place to Stay

Our room was very nice size and the Bed was perfect . We have been trying out different places to stay at . We are having a family reunion and wanted them to all have a place to stay and well we are happy to say we found the place for our friends and family to stay at . The price was great and the people that work there were great !!

Serves its purpose

The hotel is old, but the room was clean. The staff was friendly, check in and check out were easy. It serves its purpose of a cheap place to stay for the night. I would stay there again.

After being clearly makes no smoking, the entire place reeked of cigarettes. The floor was busted under the stained carpets. Sure there was a coffee maker in the room but no pot or mugs/cups. The bathtub constantly dripped.

Our entire hotel is non smoking, as it is a law here in green Vermont. We work very diligently to ensure all guests recognize and follow the policy. Our common areas have never been smoked in and the guestroom you stayed in has always been nonsmoking. We sincerely apologize if it had smelled smokey to you,we would have gladly moved you to a different room had we known. The entire property is in the process of being recarpetted. We are happy to report that guestroom will have new carpet by the end of this week! As far as our coffee machines-they are individual brew cups-there is no need for a pot! You just open the brew packet that was right next to the machine and hit the button. There were mugs and cups in a basket right next to the machine, which you may not have seen. We are surprised that you did not rate us well,but do appreciate your comments and invite you to return to see if we can fair better with you in the future.

Clean, comfortable bed, good shower, plenty of selection for continental breakfast, friendly staff. Only problem was we had trouble finding the property as Black Mountain Inn, after some time found it as advertise as Americas Best Inn,but they had changed the name, and this was not advertised on the internet, There was small signage at the base of the main signage at the roadside, but as you were concentrating on the traffic and looking for the Black Mountain Inn sign this was hard to see.
