Family hotel with great recreational facilities

Posted Jan 7, 2017
Pros: Recreational facilities.
Cons: Bedrooms in the family room suite need heat. Larger table in the living room area.
Location: Point Pelee National Park - skating, biking, canoeing, hiking, bird watching, marsh boardwalk
My husband and I took 4 grandsons ages 4-7 to the hotel for an overnight during the Christmas holidays. We stayed in the family room which was much bigger than I anticipated. There was a king sized bed in 1 bedroom, 2 queens in another bedroom, a living room area and a bathroom (large shower but no tub). A regular sized table would have been nice in the main area for eating and playing cards/games but there is only a larger coffee table. We brought some of our own food and ordered some from Leamington (about 5 minutes away). Dominos Pizza will deliver to your door. There is a microwave and small fridge in the room but the only sink is in the bathroom. The hotel is near Point Pelee National Park which in warmer weather is great for families. Our stay revolved around the hotel only. The recreational facilities include a large climbing structure with slides, table tennis and pool tables, basketball, badminton and video games in the atrium. The pool area has a swimming pool, 1 smaller water slide suitable for kids age 1 and older and 1 larger slide suitable for kids age 3 and up. Life guards are present but when the pool is busy with the day users it is best if parents are attentive. Overall the recreation area is the big draw for us. We'll be back soon!

Pros: Lots of things for kids to do. Pool area was nice.
Cons: More staff at reception desk. I had to wait 20 minutes in line to check in. Badminton court and pool table area needs to be blocked off.
Didn't sleep really well as the atrium was open from 8 until 11pm every night. Noise of kids echoed through the entire hotel. Parents did not watch their kids therefore little kids were running across the badminton court when we were trying to play. I am surprised that no kids got hurt. I don't think I will be returning.

Happy New Year! Thank you for your comments from your recent stay with us. The fun-filled atrium can be relatively quiet and relaxing at times, but the holiday period including New Year`s Eve was very busy for us. We hosted many families with young children. We will do our best to continue to reinforce parental supervision and respectful play. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience and discomfort you experienced. We hope that you will stay with us again, at a quieter time. Thank you.

Good staff clean room quick check in

Posted Dec 26, 2016
Biggest complaint was the owners and their 20 family members on Xmas eve that were there. They sat in the lobby with the booze food and loud music that wasn't in English Cut across people playing badminton Were throwing basketballs from one floor to another over people's heads Taking up all the seating in the game area Ruin our experience Won't go back

Hi Nadine - I understand that our General Manager called you last week to discuss your stay and to let you know that no members of our ownership group visited the hotel recently. And they certainly wouldn`t behave in the manner described. We are sorry that your stay was affected by the disruptive actions of other guests. Please accept our apologies and I hope that you`ll decide to stay with us again under better circumstances so that you can enjoy our resort hotel as so many of our guests do. Thank you.

Great place for families with children

Posted Dec 18, 2016
Pros: Beautifully decorated for Christmas and very clean
We have never stayed at a hotel like this before. The center area of the hotel has a large recreation area. There were several families using the rec center and having a blast. There were two negatives we experienced - one was having a room that overlooked this area. We could hear all the activity. That area closed at 11pm, and once everyone cleared out it was fine. The second negative was room placement. The hotel was fully booked, and our room was located in an area of the hotel that you had to take stairs and a walkway to get to the room. We didn't get a good description on how to get to our room, and had to ask hotel cleaners where the room was located. It was like a maze finding it. Very bizarre.

Tina, thank you for your detailed comments following your stay with us. We are happy to know that you enjoyed our recreation amenities, seasonal decor and clean environment. Most of our rooms overlook the recreation atrium, including those on the north side 2nd and 3rd floors that are accessed by stairs. We have several rooms on the other side of the atrium that are south facing with balconies. You may wish to reserve one of these rooms for your next stay. I`m sorry that we failed to properly explain how best to get to your room, and will address this with our guest services representatives. Thanks for staying with us, and we hope to have you as our guests again soon!

Pros: Friendly hotel staff
Cons: Dining menu
We were quite surprised to see this hotel in the middle of nowhere in Leamington, Ontario. Large property, very well maintained and very very clean.

Nice for families on the weekend but....

Posted Nov 14, 2016
Pros: the hotel is clean and well appointed with comfy beds and plenty of towels. There's a Kerig machine in the room, unfortunately they don't refill the k cups despite the description of a coffee in the room. There's one of those big thermos's in the lobby with tepid coffee most of the time.
Cons: It's really noisy with a zillion children running all over the atrium until 11 PM. All room face the atrium so it's unavoidable, ?the public areas are quite cool, resulting in cold food if you eat at their restaurant.
Location: Out in the boonies, good for access tot he parks but there's not much else near by.

Nice hotel

Posted Nov 10, 2016
Pros: Modern and updated looking. Nice ballroom for hosting of the wedding we attended. Friendly staff.
Cons: Let guests know when they make a reservation that atrium rooms are associated with quite a bit of noise. Offer them a choice.
Location: Many restaurants and other shops near by. Great hair salon called Synchronicity which did an great job for the hair style for the wedding.
We were in town for a wedding and it was a very nice, clean, updated hotel to stay at. Our only complaint is that the hotel is centered around an atrium. The atrium is suppose to close or observe quiet hours starting at 11pm. This did not occur and the partying and noise continued till about 130-2am. So if you choose to stay at this hotel, and would like a good nights rest, please ask for a non-atrium room. All interior rooms it seems face the atrium and exterior rooms face the parking lot.
