Decent facility, not ideal situation

The hotel room was definitely clean and prepared to the extent I would expect. This particular location is not family-friendly, i.e there were bars on the windows and doors of many businesses on the block. However just a few blocks away is little Italy and some very nice restaurants. It is also super close to the US border and Detroit. On the phone, the staff were very friendly and answered all my questions. In person, the staff were not necessarily bad, but we encountered some situations that should have been avoided. When I first checked in there was no employee on duty and I had to hunt the hotel for 10 minutes, knock on staff doors, etc. During our stay the hotel ran out of parking and spent several minutes calling local businesses asking permission to park there and ignoring my suggestions. Finally they went with my suggestion because it was actually the most viable. Upon check out, we were charged extra for our room and even after getting it corrected we were still charged $30 more per night than the price we booked (in American, not Canadian). Not the worst experience but I wouldn't go back unless I had a steep discount.

The room was just fine. Free parking a plus. Next door to a 24 hour McDonalds

Pros: the staff was helpful especially general manager and front desk
Cons: nothing
Location: mcdonalds and casino
awesome hotel and staff would recommend. loved how clean the room was and friendly everyone was they gave us nightclub free entry as well

Ok hotel for a night

There isn't great signage for the hotel. We had no idea where to go in since it's right on the road. The lobby was great, the staff was very helpful. The area around the hotel wasn't great. We only stayed here for convenience, close to the train station. For the 8 hours we were in the room, it was perfect. When we were checking out at 5am, the bar crowd was just coming back and loitering outside the hotel.

Everything was great, nothing stuck out as being poorly done. Breakfast was surprisingly good, self serve eggs/sausage/waffles and comfy seating. There was construction outside but didn't interfere. No gym, but that's expected to be the case. No bible in the bedside table which is great. I don't need to be preached at. Perhaps the Gideons were too busy playing blackjack down the street at Caesars.
