Great for getting to Hockey Game!

Posted Mar 13, 2017
Great place but felt more 3 to 3.5 not 4 star rating. -Staff was excellent. -Rooms were nice and big. -Bed was comfortable. -Pool and sauna were good too. -Hot water took about 5 minutes before it got warm and another 2-3 minutes before it was the way you liked it. -Hair dryer in my room was burnt at the end. (not very 4-star like?) I told staff and they took the info and said they were going to look at it so maybe it will be okay next time. A plus is the underground connects to the MTS Centre for Hockey so don't have to go outside!

Good stay for an Expedia deal :)

Posted Mar 6, 2017
Pros: It is located right downtown within walking distance to many city attractions.
Cons: The hotel or Expedia could make parking information more easily available
Location: The Human Rights museum and historic Forks area are within a ten minute walk of the hotel.
Decent hotel in an older building that has been upgraded. Not the flagship hotel of the Fairmount brand but certainly along the same standards you would expcet

Nice hotel.

Posted Feb 22, 2017
Nice and clean hotel. Comfortable bed. My only issue is I could not sleep until 330 am the first night as there was a lot of noise coming from other guests talking loudly and in the hallway and from doors closing.

Tired Rooms, Excellent staff, great restaurant

Posted Feb 18, 2017
Pros: Excellent, accommodating staff.
Cons: Outdated, run down room furnishings
(I was in winnipeg friday-monday for a funeral) The staff during my stay was excellent. The first room they gave us was right by an elevator - but as the hotel was full that night- they gave us a new room for the rest of our stay, that was also an upgrade (the room was bigger) which was very much appreciated- as we both had full sized luggage. The restaurant served an excellent breakfast- which was also speedy enough to indulge in just before we rushed to the airport. I overheard a server saying that the most famous person they ever served at breakfast was Seinfeld- take that for what its worth. (the fruit plate with maple cottage cheese is huge! highly recommend ordering for sharing!) My only complaint was that the rooms are in bad need of renovation- (old, outdated furniture with visible scratches and flaws) but it seems they were in the midst of changes as the lobby and the carpet in the hallways had already been updated. Once the room renovations are done- the rooms will hopefully live up to the Fairmont name. When we booked, we were surprised that the Fairmont was less expensive than the other choices in town, and I suspect the condition of the rooms is the reason. FOR FREE WIFI- Join the Fairmont presidents club (their loyalty club) so that you can use your member number to get wifi in your room for free.

Great hotel within walking distance

Posted Feb 15, 2017
Pros: Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Great location downtown.
Cons: Expensive, but overall worth the price. Would be more reasonable with Wi-fi and parking included.
Location: Lots of things within walking distance, including the human rights museum, downtown shopping and restaurants, and the Forks marketplace.
The quality of this hotel is great! The staff were all very accommodating and friendly. The rooms were large and clean, and had comfortable beds. It's a short walk to most places downtown.

Convenient location!

Posted Feb 6, 2017
Pros: Convenient location & very nice! Very reasonable price as well,
Cons: Hot tub wasn't in top working order, but still usable.
Location: Exchange district is very neat with delicious food. The Forks would be in walking distance when weather is nice.
I would highly recommend this hotel. This was our first time to Winnipeg & really enjoyed the hotel/location of the hotel. It was in walking distance of the Exchange District which had really good food (ie: Clementine), would be walking distance to The Forks (in the summer or on a nice winter day) and the view was good! The rooms were comfortable, clean & renovated. The staff were extremely friendly & inviting. Parking was good as well (even for large vehicles). There is underground parking, but also a large lot with lots of space for trucks, etc. The only downfall was the hot tub was luke warm & jets didn't really work, but was still nice to warm up after a long day outside! The pool area was clean & quiet. Overall I would definitely come back to the Fairmont & recommend to all!

Really convenient downtown -overpriced and dated

Posted Feb 4, 2017
Its right on the underground which is excellent in the winter if you work downtown. The rooms are quite variable and many are very dated, or bathrooms, trim, wallpaper. There restaurants and bars are way overpriced. But food and drink wise there are many other restaurants and bars close by. Staff is well trained and friendly.
