Delayed check in

We were told we could not check in until 3p and though we were sitting right there in the lobby, the staff failed to let us know our room was ready. Finally, I asked again at almost 3:30p and they acted surprised we weren’t already checked in???

Check in was an absolute nightmare

When we got there to check in, it was taking them absolutely forever. they were giving people rooms that already had people in them. They told us they didn't have a clean room ready and that we would have to come back later. Majority of the people there were very upset. The manager was nowhere to be found and we were offered no discount.

Close to the Hospital and has a shuttle.

Overall it was a good stay at the hotel. Breakfast wasn't what I expected but I was able to make a day of it. The staff was very nice and willing to help anyway that they could.

Good location

Recently in town for a concert. Hotel is pretty basic, but is clean. Straight shot to LJVM Collesium only about 3-5 mins. Overall good value for price

Downtown Hotel

I truly enjoyed the location of The Hawthorne Inn. It was within walking distance of multiple restaurants and activities. The staff was also very helpful and kind.

Just one problem

Location was great for our meetings. Breakfast was the average hotel breakfast selection, and replenished promptly. Beds were very comfortable. Printer at business center had a sign that it was not working and you should go to the front desk to retrieve your documents. When I went to the front desk, I was told that the computer was no longer connected to their printer since the new ownership took over. So... why not change the sign to let people know they can’t print at all???

Convenient location for downtown Winston-Salem

Helpful staff for the lodging and the restaurant. Their free breakfast is provided by a "real" restaurant, and is a hot buffet. I felt safe as I walked to and from my meetings in downtown, and exterior of the hotel is well lit. The carpet and interior lighting could stand to be updated, but all was clean and in good repair.
