Clean and convenient

Posted Jul 2, 2017
Pros: Everything
This hotel is located very close to downtown and hospitals. Easy to get to, clean, friendly staff -- what's not to like?

Needed to extend our stay an extra night, and the receptionist (Debbie) was very helpful (and friendly) in this regards.

Mixed Review, Simple Fixes Could Make it Excellent

Posted May 13, 2017
Pros: Warm and friendly desk staff
Cons: Fix accessibility issues. Adjust hallway temperature. Train or hire better restaurant staff. Follow health codes! Attention to details & consistency.
Lovely & caring front-desk staff and a lot of problems that make no sense and detract from what otherwise is a nice hotel. There is poor attention to details that actually matter and contribute to overall experience in a negative way. Staff managing complimentary breakfast are unwelcoming and unprofessional, breakfast generally quite bad, missing basics like condiments (butter for the toast, catsup/hot sauce for steamtray eggs), sticky tables in restaurant. Rooms missing shampoo or spotty replacement of coffee. Room not cleaned until dinner time despite all-day availability. Hallways actually too cold to walk through without a coat. Windows that don't open, stale air even with fans on. Handicapped access is unacceptably poor with multi-level entrance to lobby/restaurant that would require going outside all the way around the building or waiting for staff (who never appear) to run the awkward stairlift for luggage and wheel chairs. Rooms themselves are nice, beds comfortable. Finding previous guest trash (even large water bottles) under and in chairs was not pleasant or acceptable.

Great Place to stay while at Hospital

Very Nice atmosphere. Renovated older Hotel. Staff very nice and pleasant. Breakfast Buffet not kept up to speed but when full I am sure it is great! Great place to stay when loved ones are at the Hospital. Would definitely recommend.

just basic

Pros: maid service was good
Cons: upgrade the pillows they were old and horrible quality
Location: very close to Old Salem's historic district.
breakfast bordered on awful. pillows were horrible, amenities lacking. it was clean, maid service regular and thorough. The price was crazy expensive because of market, which I see as a rip-off because the quality of the hotel was about an 80-85$ a night at best...paying 250+ a night has you expecting more than bottom of the barrel.

The hotel was very nice. The service was fantastic. In the morning I asked the employee in the breakfast area if they had kids for the coffee cups and he was SUPER friendly, found one right away and thanked us for our stay. The location was also great walking distance from some nice shops!
