Great hotel, friendly staff!Posted Apr 4, 2016
The Brookstown Inn is an easy half-time walk to Old Salem. We stayed there for one night and wished we'd planned to stay longer! Spacious rooms and expansive bathrooms, friendly staff and even a hotel kitty. Our 12-year-old enjoyed visiting with Sally the cat while he ate his evening milk and cookies. Room temperature was fine for us and the hot water was plentiful. We'll be planning a return trip!

Great place to stay and within walking distance to the old Salem community, children's museum, and downtown Winston Salem.

Love this place, just keeps getting betterPosted Mar 28, 2016 on Hotels
My second time here and this was even better than the first, because a) I realised how easy it is to walk into the centre of downtown from here, and b) I asked for a ground floor room where the wifi signal was great, which is indispensible for me for work purposes. Old Salem is on the doorstep and is fascinating for history lovers. Two minor areas for improvement - the room was a little cold in the daytime, and the breakfasts did not have much variety, was pretty limited for a 'continental' breakfast

Best hotel in Winston-SalemPosted Feb 24, 2016 on Hotels
I've stayed in most of the hotels in Winston-Salem, and this is easily my favorite. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed - a very nice renovation of a historic brick building (high ceilings, large windows, excellent historic furniture - could definitely feel the history). The furnishings and renovation were very modern, clean, and comfortable. Front desk is friendly, buffet breakfast is great (I am partial to biscuits and gravy), and cookies are in the very comfortable lounge every evening. I hope to stay here again on my next trip to Winston Salem.
