Great location, great property! Staff is so friendly & kind. Loved the wine & cheese in the early evening & the milk & cookies at night are a sweet touch! Our room was so spacious & the property grounds so welcoming. Would definitely stay again!

My daughter and I stayed here while on a long weekend trip to visit Wake Forest. The hotel was absolutely lovely and the location was great. Despite the fact that it seemed to be very booked (lots of cars in the parking lot) we never felt that crowded feeling when walking around the hotel. We really enjoyed the milk and cookies at night! Our room was huge and so was the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and we got a good quiet nights sleep. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast in the restaurant. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend the Brookstown Inn to anyone staying in the area.

This is really amazing hotel!! Very lovely and antique atmosphere ans I'm pretty sure you will be overwelmed. My family is traveling to DC from Atlanta during the spring break, and Winstern salem is the middle of our road trip and we stay here each one night on the way. This is not just inn, you should drop this city and stay here and feel whole warm, cozy, quiet but lively mood of this city through this hotel. Room is spacious, breakfast is wonderful, and free beer, and cookie and milk is also great. And Sally.. adorable. They offer very high speed wifi, so my kid could participate her live online class very well!! I definetely recommend this hotel to all :)

The building has been kept much to its original build. It was wonderful to see historical buildings receive new purpose instead of being torn down and building new.

The people were so friendly and hospitable, and it felt so generous- cookies and milk in the evening, wine and cheese in a warm bar atmosphere, and a wonderful homemade breakfast in the morning. The place has such charm with exposed brick everywhere and its old factory past preserved though modern. The rooms was so pretty and everything was sparkling clean. We would definitely stay again!

Love the high ceilings and large bathroom. Enjoy the wine and cheese hour and the milk and cookie hour. They have an adorable cat that hangs out in the lobby. Always enjoy staying here.

This place was so cool. The staff was friendly & helpful. We received a complimentary wine or beer in the bar and they had cheese & crackers for guests to snack on. Milk & cookies later in the evening and a delicious full breakfast in the morning. It was very quiet So I had no problem falling asleep.

This is a really lovely Inn. It’s in a renovated cotton mill. Many of the walls are brick. The rooms are very large. The amenities feel like a luxury hotel.

Charming property with old town feel. Wine and cheese in the early evening and cookies and milk at bedtime. You don't get that from these chain hotels. Beautiful surrounding area and the smell of wood burning in the crisp February air. Can't wait to return!

Throwback to days of yore
The place is dripping with historic atmosphere and served well as a better Christmas present for my wife than the one I bought for her. I can relate a little bit to the reviewer who complained about the extremely bright street light outside which makes its way around the closed blinds and the frigidness of the room. The latter problem would have been solved had I realized that there was an extra blanket sort of buried away in the closet to throw across the bed. Having grown up sleeping in a completely unheated bedroom with piles of cover on the bed, I can tell you that there is nothing cozier. As it was, I got up and put my jacket on and went back to bed. And since we currently sleep with a night light on, what little outside light made it past the blinds was no problem. The walking proximity to Old Salem is a major plus, adding to the overall historical experience. The breakfast was reminiscent of the ones we used to have at my grandmother's house, complete with biscuits and gravy.

Very nice hotel, great location. The only negative comment is the temperature control in our spacious room. It felt cold all the time, perhaps management didn’t expect the cold front which hit us during the period of our stay.

Anniversary stay in Winston-Salem
Went for a weekend to celebrate New Years and anniversary. Was pleasantly surprised with how excellent of a choice Brookstown Inn was. Very friendly staff and easy check-in. Very clean, spacious, and comfortable room. Only had ~40 inch TV - not a big deal as we don't watch TV much on our travels. A well done hot breakfast, 5 PM wine hour, and nighttime cookies made us feel very welcome. Walking distance to Old Salem as well as several excellent restaurants within 2-3 blocks of the Inn. Will return in the future

If you are staying, take an eye mask. Blinds at the windows do not keep out the outside lights at night. Room was impossible to darken. Lined drapes are needed at the windows. Also, comfortable seating in the room would have been nice. Only one desk chair in the room.

This hotel is greatly overrated. The rooms are cold, we had to get a space heater to get some heat into the room. Then the fuse blow and the room was without power. After power was back on a water leak happened in the bathroom. Water came pouring out of the overhead light/fan. At night the space heater had a wind-howling sound that kept me awake. The window blinds did not have the rod to adjust blind angle so I had to climb up the window sill to reach the little know to close the blinds. The bugs and cobwebs between the two windows do not look good. All I can say, it is a highly overrated hotel.

The Inn was especially beautiful during our stay with all the Christmas decorations! The services and "extra events" such as milk & cookies are wonderful perks. The only thing I wish would have been different was the location of our room. It overlooked the courtyard where there had been a wedding followed by a noisy at times reception. (Side note - great venue for such an event) But I wish the new couple much happiness and hope they can return to the Brookstown Inn to celebrate their 30th anniversary like we did. ❤️

Quirky Place
The place has lots of atmosphere, being a converted old mill. Our room was on the 3rd floor and was not very warm. We complained and they pulled out a portable heater which never would have heated that space with windows that needed to be re-puttied and 15 foot ceilings. The faucet in the bath sink produced just a trickle of water which thay were unable to fix.
