I am generally easy to please with a hotel, give me a clean bathroom and I'm usually a happy camper. I'm usually willing to look past minor maintenance issues, mild odors, a mildew spot here or there, things like that. But this hotel was terrible. We got three rooms, two on the first floor, one on the second. Both first floor rooms REEKED of mildew, not a minor "oh, this smells a little funny" but a full-on "whoa that's bad!". One of the rooms had visible mold on the wall under the sink, and the bathroom had mold/mildew everywhere. Overall, the hotel was just in bad shape. Moldings falling off the wall, worn carpet, bad smell. I could go on, but I think you get the picture.
In the hotel's defense, one of the rooms (the one with mold) was switched out for a different room for the last day. From what I understand the new room was much nicer.
The hotel staff was reasonably friendly and tried to be helpful, it didn't sound like they had the authority to do anything. Any time we asked about anything relating to money or the accommodations we were told "I'll have to talk to the general manager'
