Money stolen from safe.

Cons: Room far too hot. Customer service could respond to issues raised.
I have tried to raise my issue twice via the website but have not been dignified with a response. I spent 3 nights at the Prince Regent Hotel in Chigwell over xmas, and left some money in the room safe overnight. When I arrived back at the hotel on the last night I removed my laptop from the safe and discovered that £60 of the cash i left in the safe was missing. I allowed myself some time to reflect on this to make sure I am certain, but having slept on it and thought about it for a day I am absolutely certain that the money was taken. This was my second stay at the hotel, and the experience has certainly soured what was otherwise a pleasant Christmas. I don't know if it has any connection to the issue, but when returning to my room on the last night I had to return to reception as my card key wasn't working (or had been deactivated) meaning i was locked out of the room. The reason I am certain the money was taken from the safe is because of two things. 1) I was sure of it at the time (as I knew how much i had left in there), and 2) Upon returning to Manchester I checked how much I withdrew from the cash machine prior to driving to the hotel and by coincidence the balance of cash I had was £60 down what it should have been.

Hotel location was convenient for my work next day. Large room in very large hotel. Hotel functional but not much character. Decent value for London.

Pros: Quiet, comfortable room.
Cons: Breakfast times. Improved range of food on offer (some butter would be nice). Attitude and behaviour of staff.
Potentially a good hotel let down by a lack of attention to detail, and poor quality of training for staff.

Well overdue for a refurbishment

Pros: Convenient for our needs to be in the area.
Cons: Standard of housekeeping .
Needing to stay in the area because of family reasons, the Prince Regent suited our needs. The hotel is very tired looking and is long overdue for a refurbishment. The rooms were well-sized and comfortable. However the standard of house-keeping is quite poor with some days only a single set of towels were provided for the two of us that were staying and it required a phone call to have additional towels provided. Given that the Prince Regent is now under new ownership by the Hallmark Group, it remains to be seen if they intend investing in a refurbishment.

It was nice

It was lovely. The staff were very accommodating with my requests. Didn't realise the hotel was so big but was great all the same. One member of staff (didn't catch his name) went out of his way to help us so that was great. Breakfast was nice and fresh. Left with a smile on my face. Would definitely go back again and would definitely recommend to people.

Terrible rooms in Annexe begin with 4**

Was put in a room in the annexe - (all rooms beginning with 4). Shocking. Rooms are tired, and very noisy, floor is spongy so you can hear anyone coming and going - in fact every step amplified. If you're staying here, it can be ok, but walk out if the room number begins with 4

Nice friendly staff. Good basic hotel. Room fourniture 7+ Tv, Thea,Table etc in room. Shower water become too hot. But overal a good basic hotel!

One sm bar of soap for 6 nights,no shampoo,breakfeast was just fair,no air condition
