Better than a travelodge.

Pros: As above.
Cons: As above.
We got this hotel as a good cheap one night stay on a comparison website, normally this does cause some concerns but the ratings were reasonable and all looked fine. All was fine, a few minor things but it's rare that there isn't. The hotel was well presented, some would say dated but it's an old building thus the furnishing matched, there were no obvious signs of them being old and tatty. We were welcomed on arrival, check in was quick and easy. We had to ask for the wifi codes which we found we didn't need as in the room the wifi did not ask for the password, the wifi worked fine, we only used it for general websites (maps etc), I think watching a movie may stretch it but it did what we needed it to. The room was clean and everything worked. The bed was very soft, which was not to our taste but that is something for personal preference, nonetheless we slept fine so it couldn't have been much of an issue, there was very little noise to disturb us. We didn't eat at the hotel so sorry can't comment on that. There was plenty of parking. Check out as check in was quick and easy. We paid what would be paid for an early deal on a travelodge of premier Inn (both of which I've stayed at and found fine it somewhere to sleep is the only need) and this was better than both of those.

Pretty but faded

Pros: Good looking
Cons: Decor
Location: Not much
Decoration in room needs attention. Mould in shower, due to poor extract ventilation.

Very special

This is a wonderful hotel. It is relaxing and romantic. The bar was cozy and the drinks good. The room floors squeaked as any hotel of that age would. If you stay make sure to walk around the hotel. The sun room and even the smoking area were impressive.

Great character building, great staff, nice room (#2). The village pub doesn't do food and Friday evenings as they have Karaoke. The other pub is for sale and doesn't do food at all.

Excellent food and service. Only one problem occurred, no hot water on Day 2 in the room.
