After a problem with the booking by Expedia which took well over an hour to sort out we had a great stay in a lovely room overlooking the garden. The manager, Richard and Mike on reception couldn't do enough for us to sort out the problem and make our stay comfortable. The rooms are spacious and spotless, the communal areas were clean and comfortable ideal for groups of people or couples meeting up. The garden area was lovely for our family meet-up when 20 of us came together and were able to enjoy lunch and drinks in the sunshine attended to by the capable bar staff. The restaurant food was very good and reasonably varied to suit all tastes. The breakfast buffet was to be commended with such a great choice of food and all the staff we had contact with were friendly and helpful. The pool was clean and a great size, the only downside was communal changing for each gender. Although I didn't use the gym my son said it looked well equipped and was certainly in regular use.

Cons: it's crying out for a major renovation, as the rooms are poorly maintained; change the mattresses!
Location: no restaurants within walking distance sadly.
I dire need of complete room renovation; beds awful, walls dirty and wallpaper peeling, and bad maintenance throughout; no air con either. Food was well below par; chips were what looked like left overs and half broken then refried!! From the website it does look appealing, but you're in for a major disappointment as we found! Credit to Luke, who tried to rectify things as best he could!

Spacious comfortable room, helpful staff. good food - a very pleasant stay! And the weekend rates made it excellent value. We will definitely stay again!

Cons: Change the brand, two star operators in what could be a four star facility.
Having stayed at the hotel previously when it was a Hilton hotel I was disappointed on my return with the overall experience. After an overnight flight I arrived at midday to freshen up for a meeting, I was charged £30.00 for early check in. Car parking was an additional £5.00 and the free Internet was 20 minutes! . Staff on Reception and especially in the Bar were unfriendly adding to the overall experience. When all the ingredients are there it is a shame that hotel policies and lack of customer service spoil the stay. This hotel has an ideal location and not much in the way of local competition and yet I would seriously think twice before revisiting, great shame.

Pros: Situation ideal for motorway But not with traffic noise Hotel staff very helpful

have had twin beds before but told the bedroom booked for our stay of 2 single bed with a settee would be ok we did not need or use the settee

Comfortable, as the rooms are still reminiscent of the Hilton Hotels, who were the previous owners. The only criticism I would have is that the food and drinks are overpriced and the check-in and out is dreadful if you catch it at peak times (up to 25 minutes I have waited before!)
