pleasant external appearance in good locationPosted Aug 30, 2016
Location: location good in centre of pleasant village; easily walkable to all amenities, shops, restaurants, pubs etc and ideal for access to Bewdley & Severn V
Arrived 6pm ish and shown to room - advised breakfast 8-9am ( very early for us, especially as next day was Sunday ). Precedure via rear fire escape for late entry outlined. Advised hotel under new management and food limited at present. Once settled, constant dog barking somewhere within the hotel was intolerable. Bad smell to staircase from bar to 1st floor, presumably due to dog. All things were disappointing and not up to expected standards for 3* accommodation - no glasses for water, difficult entry/exit for shower, curtains not fitting to rail properly - generally poor and uncomfortable. Did not make breakfast on Sunday and decided could not face a second night!!! - left Sunday evening and went home, totally disappointed with everything. Maybe the new management needs time to sort things out, but the place needs to be refurbished to a better standard. Late entry on Saturday evening was difficult due to insufficient lighting and difficult metal staircase.

Inn at centre of Cleobury MortimerPosted Aug 28, 2016
Pros: Position in centre of town. Exterior was beautiful - black and white timbered.
Cons: Hopefully everything will improve under new management.
Location: A visit to Ludlow is a must.
The Talbot is in desperate need of TLC. Under very new management, so might improve.

Nice landlord and staff. It ends there!Posted Feb 5, 2016
Pros: Landlord was pleasant
Location: Nice location
Nice friendly landlord and staff. That's about it the hotel is one of the worst i've stayed in. Dirty, smelly, sticky carpets, room was damp, towels smelt of damp, cold, green fire light on the roof lighting up room all night i could go on.....

Lovely Character Hotel, full of HistoryPosted Nov 24, 2015
Pros: Character, Staff, atmosphere, location, parking
Location: Country location. Various Restaurants & Pubs. Forestry walks, beautiful views nearby. Great area for History buffs.
A Character Hotel in the Centre of Cleobury Mortimer. Staff and locals really friendly. Arrived late, left early - therefore did not eat. My room was panelled walling, and a comfortable bed. Not a high class establishment - you get what is says on the tin. I would definitely stay there again.

Midweek breakPosted Nov 1, 2015 on Hotels
Martin and Steph were most welcoming. Enormous breakfast so opted for the reduced version. Room was compact but comfortable. Old inn with lots of character. Ideal base for visiting Shropshire. Good beer but overpriced. Would return!
