Mix up that was not acknowledged or corrected

At the first Las Margaritas hotel - the clerk did not recognize our reservation. We were sent to a second Las M hotel in Xalapa. Staff gave us no explanation after we spent additional money and time to get to the other hotel.
After the mix up - it was almost impossible to correct it with the Las M staff since no one speaks English. We had to call the concierge from the Fiesta Americana hotel. Good thing we did as our driver was waiting at the wrong hotel when we needed to get to the airport. Room was clean and neat but bathroom towels were like sand paper, no tissues.
