The hotel grounds were very pretty with the greenery around the pool, very beautiful. The hotel was also well located next to 5th ave...however, the rooms were small & oddly shaped. The room smelled like sewer. The mattresses were as hard as a rock with lumpy & hard pillows. The bath towel were large (bath blanket) which was nice, but they were OLD. They were the towels in the perfect state to rip up and use for cleaning the car. The air conditioning barely worked, it took 8 hours for the room to cool down enough to be bearable enough to sleep. As if that wasnt bad enough, the shower was dirty, small and the water barely dripped out of the shower spout. No need to even turn on the cold water, just turning on the hot water, after 15 mins, was luke warm, warm enough to go under ... unless youre brave & shower with cold water. The entire bathroom, especially the shower head needs a DEEP cleaning.

Rene was an excellent asset. I'd say he was very good at running the hotel. The cleaning women were too, except they were a bit chatty when they convened. The young women in the registration/lobby were not very helpful and it appeared to pain them that they were interrupted...although they weren't working. Also, can I suggest that you 1) power wash the pool area later in the day, not at 7:00 a.m. and 2) provide a small refrigerator and coffee pot in every rooms.

Stayed at Tukan before covid and was treated well. Totally diferent this time around. Unresponsive and grummpy recepton. Wasted hours just to ty and get the TV to work. Toilet was junk and hotel ignored request to fix. Many noisy guests carrying on to all hours with no reponse from the hotel.

The staff service was good, they offered us the all included on the restaurant next to the hotel and it was not worth it, room was ok until there was a bug on a pillow and I saw two cockroaches, and we expected to be on the main building but they send us to one behind. Good thing we booked for just 3 nights.

Yes you get what you pd for but you deserve better
The hotel is not even an all inclusive hotel for them to deny your friends to invite them into your room so you can all pre drink. They said it’s a policy but there is no where states that policy on their website. The water smells sewage. I don’t habe hot water in my shower. Maintenance came to fix it and he said he will check something but never came back. Pool is not open.

A all the employees but the hotel needs maintenance, the pool was closed the whole time we where there they send you to a hotel across the street if you want to get in a pool the bathroom has little roaches and the water in the shower and sink is salt water so bring extra conditioner also if you paying all inclusive or just breakfast they'll send you across the street to The Ceiba restauran no ac and the food is not that good (really bad actually)at the end you get what you paid for if you planning to stay here I hope you read more comments no just this one then is up to you, they respond to all negative reviews with a generic comment

Es de suma importancia para nosotros las reseñas y puntuaciones que nuestros huéspedes nos obsequian, porque es el medio en el que detectamos las mejoras en las distintas actividades que conforman el hotel y de igual manera, reforzar con las áreas que se realicen las actividades de forma correcta.Efectivamente, la alberca permanecio cerrada por remodelación y mejores para que puedan disfrutarla y llevarse una mejor experiencia. En cuanto a la Ceiba el restaurante es independiente al hotel, pero al igual forma trabajamos en conjunto para satisfacer las expectativas del huésped, que esa es nuestra finalidad y si no lo estamos haciendo, trabajamos para seguir mejorado. De todos modos agradecemos estos comentarios que nos hace porque son los que nos ayudán a medirnos y seguir creciendo. Vamos a trabajar en esos detalles y espero que se pueda dar la oportunidad de regresar para que pueda percatarse de los cambios y mejoras que vamos haciendo, esta siempre será su casa. This is a cute property and great for a short stay if you want to be on 5th Street but NOT near the LOUD clubs, etc. The staff was very nice and it was in a good area. The room was clean but the bathroom had a horrible smell. Probably a sewer issue, but its an inexpensive hotel in Playa so we dealt with it. I would definitely go back if I needed a place to stay for a few nights for not a lot of money.

The location is in the center of 5th Avenue, which is the hotel's best feature. There are only a few chairs around the pool, so sometimes hard to get one. The hot tub never worked. Upon check-in, someone had used my toilet and overflowed it onto the bathroom floor. Just gross. They sent someone to clean it. There was always a sewer smell and fruit flies every day. The lock on the sliding door was about to fall off and 3 lights in the room did not work. When I tried to tell the front desk several times, they nodded and walked away. There were also some public areas that they could have attended to instead of standing around talking. The top of the water cooler needed to be dusted off and the sofa in the lobby has a gaping hole in it. There were always tons of leaves outside my door each morning. I was in 305 and it was right by the cleaning room, so each morning, I was woken early by the cleaning people laughing and eating and slamming doors. The size of the property and the location are its best features, but they could make it so much more. I met many Canadians and they were not too impressed either. I did like the tropical atmosphere too, but on the last night, a roach scurried across my bedroom floor. Also, at check-in, they told me I owed $10, which was a different amount than what Expedia told me it would be. They didn't care even when I showed them the paper.

Pictures from the website are very different from the actual location. In the bathroom in particular the tiles and Faucet lever are the worse they are rusting and look like they have mold. Once you get to the hotel they try to make you spend more on either other amenities or the room itself.

We apologize if your experience was not as expected, the water faucets do not have mold, simply in our region the environment contains saltpeter, which is what causes a layer of oxide to be generated around the faucet. The offers made at reception may well be to increase the room category or receive some extra amenity that your reservation does not have, it is not mandatory to accept these offers. Excellent location, clean room, responsive front desk and housekeeping staff with a friendly and positive attitude. I was a bit apprehensive after reading some very negative reviews online, however this experience reminds me that frustrated people are more likely to post a negative review than those, like myself who were pleasantly surprised with both the facility and the staff. I did not like the security guy with the lazy eye there. He was very rude. Also the bracelets for the hotel are annoying and unfashionable. The place needs a severe update. It looks like it was built in the 50s and never remodeled. The restaurant across the street that is part of the hotel is expensive. Especially the beer, 2 beers for 160 pesos when you can walk 1 to 2 minutes to 7 11 and get a 6 pack for 120 pesos

Great location, simple hotel in need of renovation
Location! Is the best part of this hotel!! We had a nice stay. The hotel room we got had two rooms, cold ac, hot water and Netflix on both televisions. Hotel room is basic, does not have phone if you need towels you need to go to the reception, which was not a problem to us since hotel is small. We spent most of the time out of the hotel. Staff was friendly, willing to help. The hotel does need a renovation, but rooms are clean and good to rest. I left my wedding ring, and call the hotel they did find it!!!! Overall not as bad as I expected, based on other reviews I saw.
