Convenient and budget friendly Hotel

Pros: Budget friendly and close to local attractions.
Cons: Stained carpet.
Location: South gate of the City Wall, Bell Tower, shopping.
We stayed here for 4 nights while we explored the city and went on daily excursions. The room was spacious and plenty of room for two adults to get ready. The toilet would clog every now and then but the hotel quickly fixed it. The hotel is close to the Bell Tower and the South Gate to the City Wall. There are a lot of good, cheap local food and western food in the area. There is a grocery store nearby to get snacks and supplies.

RAINY XI'AN - not hotel's fault.

Pros: wonderful room!
Cons: drinks in minibar Regular bar downstairs.
Room was great! Would have been nice to have umbrellas available as loaners! Only would sell them! Great location for sight-seeing. No bar - that would have been nice in the evening! Didn't have much tour information - Tang dynasty show, etc. Was hard to initially find! Taxi driver just dropped us as he couldn't find it! Finally a young man found it on his GPS. Staff very helpful and courteous!

Good location, but lousy service

Breakfast times not communicated so I missed it. very hard to get any tourist information out of them about the terricota army or the city, (you have to buy a city map) Finally they forced me to take there car service to see the Terracotta Army where They tried to get me to go other places, it was a tough trip.

This place has a very good location, close to several historic spots. While the building looks a little old, the friendly staff, simple though warm and calm wooden interior design, and clean rooms make it a place to stay. You can also access the subway by walking for about 7 to 10 minutes. The only thing which was a little unusual here was the room service. They won't replace the used or empty hair/body shampoos after the room service unless you ask the reception desk for that. However, you don't need to be worried as these items are also available for purchase in larger size packages inside the room.

held upon check out for "mssing" 3 towels

Only one staff was hardly speaking English, and it was very difficult to communicate otherwise. I don't recommend if you don't speak Chinese. Upon check-out, we were told that 3 towels were "missing" and we were held and almost missed the flight (we had no idea on the whereabout of those "missing" towels! Should have we checked how many the maid filled in/replaced everyday??). Very unpleasant experience. I feel this hotel is significantly over-priced; there was a Jacuzzi hot tub that we paid for but was not working at all (knobs were missing, the water had some yellowish color, and I had to call the service to drain the water).
