Finch Falls Retreat

Finch Hatton
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (1 review)
"This was a fantastic retreat. I was unsure what to expect but found it was better than I expected, somehow. As a family with young kids, my two just loved if from the moment we arrived. The cabin had toys and fun items (& chocolate) as well as having an outdoor play space and a creek to go exploring. But with undercover parking, outdoor fire pit, bbq on porch, the accommodation was just fantastic. Couldn't be happier with our stay"

"Close to national parks, bushwalking and viewing of platypus. Not a lot of bird life to be had - arrived in the clouds and mist, departed the same way with some rain thrown in. Wi-fi and TV connections were non-existent during our stay - many drop outs and breaking up of signal."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Yalboroo?
The best area to stay in Yalboroo is generally on the outskirts of the town, closer to the natural attractions, as Yalboroo itself is a very small, rural locality.

For couples or solo travelers seeking a tranquil escape, accommodation near the Cathu State Forest or along the Bruce Highway (A1) offers direct access to natural beauty. These areas are characterized by lush greenery, open spaces, and the sounds of nature, providing a peaceful retreat away from any urban bustle. You'll find options like secluded cabins or guesthouses that emphasize privacy and connection with the outdoors.

Families looking for a nature-focused holiday might consider properties that offer more space and amenities, often found slightly outside the immediate township. Look for places with room to roam, like those near Yalboroo National Park, which provides opportunities for bushwalking and wildlife spotting.
When is the best time to go to Yalboroo?
The best time to visit Yalboroo is during the dry season, which runs from May to October. This period offers the most pleasant weather conditions for exploring the region.

During these months, you'll experience clear skies, lower humidity, and comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from the low 20s to high 20s Celsius (70s to 80s Fahrenheit). These conditions are ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, wildlife viewing, and enjoying the natural beauty of the surrounding Eungella National Park without the disruption of heavy rainfall or uncomfortable heat.

Couples looking for a relaxing and comfortable getaway will find this time particularly appealing. The cooler, drier weather makes it great for enjoying scenic drives through the Pioneer Valley or leisurely walks along the Broken River, where you can spot platypus in their natural habitat.

Travelers seeking an active adventure will also appreciate the dry season. The trails in Eungella National Park are more accessible and less muddy, making it an excellent time for exploring the diverse flora and fauna.
