Better than I expected

I visited Yantai for my best friends wedding and found this hotel to be extremely affordable, sufficiently accomadating, and in a prime location. This hotel is just a 5 minute walk to the beach, and is in a perfect location for bus travel. There is a south bound bus stop right in front of the hotel and a north bound stop right across the street. The north bound stop takes you to the inner city and most of the places we wanted to go, very easy. In another note, the description for 168 boasts an English speaking staff, I didn't find this to be the case. No one spoke English, not even a little. This goes for most of the city, yantai is not a tourist city, don't expect English speakers anywhere. That being said, the staff were very nice and allowed me to pantomime when I needed something. Great experience with 168. Plus they have access to the roof, which my wife and I frequented many times with a bottle of wine. I'm pretty sure they were cool with it. -Chris

Close to all amenities. Had a comfortable nights sleep before my flight in the morning. Only let down was the lack of English spoken. No complimentary coffee etc, but room has a kettle. Great hotel if you are on a budget.

Good place to stay in Yantai

The hotel is located at a very strategic place, between Laishan and the city center. The service was very good. I'd recommend this to others definitely. There is also a bus stop just few steps from the front door, mini market on the right hand side and all taxi drivers know where it is. The main drawback is: you must communicate with the hotel staff using Mandarin, they dont really speak English.
