It's will always be the YK Inn to me.

A normal stay at this aging property. Great desk and room staff. Room was clean, comfortable and adiquetly equipped, but is starting to show its age.

Conenient location and friendly staff

I had a pleasant surprise when I arrived at Quality Inn YK with my partners. We had a triple room, which is clean and spacious. There's a small open kitchen and a dining table, (though it's lack of basic utensils, which I hope will come later)It's quiet , so we had three nights of good sleep after returning from our aurora viewing trip around 2:00am. The receptionist who checked in for uds was Aileen. She was very helpful and very pleasant, responding to our needs very promptly and efficiently. There were a few people idling around outside the hotel entrance because of it's central location, but they would not bother anyone at all. In fact, they were friendly too! We were also happy that we had hotel shuttle picking us up and dropping us off at YK airport, in comfort. We would recommend Quality Inn and Suite to our friends when they visit YK, and I definetely will stay here again on my next YK trip.

Downtown YK Hotel

I've stayed here before and found it a little more convenient that NOVA, which is a little farther away from downtown. Here were the problems this visit: 1) Room door permanently locked and did not close. Had to swipe passcard to close door from outside. 2) Portable air conditioning unit in room. 3) Room mini-fridge broken and leaking water. 4) No hot water in shower. All in all, a fairly bad showing by any objective standard.

Close to town

I stayed here for two nights. It's was quite clean and central to town. The corridors were quite noisy and the doors kept slamming throughout the night. Some staff were friendly and others not. Overall a decent place for a few days.

The staff are great, but the first room we went to hadn't been cleaned. The staff handled it well and got us into a new, clean room. Overall just an ok stay. I Called for replacement batteries for the remote control and the maintenance man came quickly and was very helpful. Overall, it's an older hotel that isn't really that great. The location is very convenient. But no amenities.

Nice hotel - could use some upgrades

Pros: Bed was very comfortable.
Cons: Fix the lock location on the main door of some of the suites so they can close properly.
I checked in for a three night stay in Yellowknife. Overall, there were no major issues with my stay. The swinging latch for the door kept my door from closing properly and needed to be fixed. My room was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable. I have been to Yellowknife and required some assistance getting oriented in the town. The receptionist could not help me due to a language barrier. The hotel seemed to be secure with only allowing access via a key card in the elevators, but access to the floors could be achieved through the stairwell. On my last night there, someone knocked on my door at 4am looking for their friend. It didn't feel very secure because of that.

Staff know absolutely nothing about Yellowknife including what restaurants are open and where they are. They staff barely speak English.

Location: Watch northern lights off of Prosperous Lake
Terrific service and advice from the weekend night time reception clerk, who advised me to get in the car and drive out of town to Prosperous Lake to watch the Northern Lights, because it was a rare, clear, warm summer night. I followed his advice and had a most memorable night. He really made my trip.
