So happy we chose this place to stay in York. It’s our honeymoon trip and we enjoyed our time so much. Very welcoming and kind staff. Pretty and comfy room. Delicious and filling English breakfast. Lovely walk to the centre with an amazing river view along the way. There’s also a convenient regular bus stop just across the place. The price is also very reasonable. Will definitely come back and also recommend this place to our friends!

We have been there twice and found it friendly and convenient. The en-suite facilities are looking a little tired and the double bed does not compare to the beds in places like Premier Inn.

Great value Hotel
Great hotel, not far from city centre. Owner and breakfast staff were very friendly. Room was clean, warm, and had everything we needed, and if was quiet at night. Breakfast was very nice. Free onsite parking was one of the reasons for choosing this hotel. We would definitely stay there again.

Clean, Comfortable , Nice rooms. Friendly, Very helpful. Walkable distance to York town centre or by bus which stops almost outside. Good breakfast. Close to nice pubs with good evening meals.

Lovely Breakfast, cooked by a friendly, cheery Italian, fast check-in with a very knowledgeable host, whom we didn't see much but was friendly when we did.. Building quite an old one so no air-con, our room was quite compact with quite dated furniture, our bathroom was quite small with a very small shower.

Our stay was Very good , our room was ready earlier than we thought it would be. Ideal location for the races .On site parking . Our room was clean and everything we needed for our weekend . All staff were helpful with either general enquiries or helpful suggestions to enhance our stay Extra tea coffee milk etc was provided on each landing .Each morning we had a fabulous full English breakfast .We would stay there again .

Based at the top off the house room 10 no head room when you sit up in bed should be discounted for this alone. Furniture very 1970s wry basic tea and coffee facilities

We were the first guests Paul and Helen had at the hotel after Covid. I must say we cannot recommend their establishment enough! Paul even text the week before confirming arrangements and was kind enough to help me decide on adventures to book for our little boy. Their hospitality was above and beyond and they made us feel safe whilst able to enjoy a much needed break. They had put every possible measure into place to ensure their guests and staff were kept safe. I honestly couldn’t think of anything they might have missed. This went from providing room service breakfast rather than in the dining room, to even having the tv remote wrapped in a protective cover for cleanliness. The breakfast was hot each day with everything required provided each day with them checking everything was perfect at every opportunity. The room wasn’t too small which you can sometimes find with family rooms, it was spotlessly clean and shower was nice and hot. Tea, coffee and got chocolate were provided as was extras like spare towels and hairdryer. The hotel isn’t a far walk from the centre which can be enjoyed with a walk along the river and a cab back in the evening is about £5. York itself is beautiful and the people are so lovely. If you need a break which we did this is perfect. We are already planning to return we had such an amazing time! Thank you again to Paul and Helen and good luck, your care and hospitality will shine!

very friendly owners and staff, good location, 15 minute walk into york city centre. breakfast was a bacon roll brought to the room, due to covid dining room not open, so no evening meals available. plenty of tea and coffee facilities in the room. Wouldnt recommend room 10 as it is in the eaves and i couldnt sit up in bed. slept well as bed comfy. would stay here again but not room 10

The Breakfast was excellent, the staff friendly and polite. There is a bus stop (for buses into the City centre) opposite. Dislikes: The noise from the hot water system (Room 3) during the night. The decor is in need of some TLC. Overall a very good budget hotel, convenient for exploring York.

The management and staff made us very welcome and helpful with local knowledge about York and the surrounding area. Special mention to the staff serving breakfast really attentive ensuring your every need/requirements were catered for. Will definitely use again.

Very pleasant B&B with easy commute to city.
This is a pleasant and clean B&B, well located to either walk into York or hop on the bus (on easy bus route). Nice and clean (on the whole) accomodation, all usual amenities such as tea/coffee facilities etc. En-suite shower room was ideal, only criticism was room was far too warm. Breakfast was interesting with banter from friendly Italian cook, choice of cereals, full cooked etc., or both; good food and plenty of it. Parking available on site itself, which is quite a benefit for York. On the whole, an enjoyable stay and a venue I'd consider booking again.

Well located on No 7 bus route; but far nicer still was the walk alongside the river into the heart of York. Most welcoming; great to have keys straight away and a comfortable room with good breakfast.

Nice little B&B with a direct #7 bus to the gates of old York just a few minutes down the road. Great breakfast by a very funny Italian chef! A bit noisy from the road traffic at night but not too bad

The propery is ideally situated for town and racecourse,which was our main priority.The staff are so welcoming, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Midway House. Friendly and helpful staff, check in was perfect, room great, beds good, breakfast excellent. We also liked the 20 minute walk to town or the option to jump on the bus across the street when we had our luggage which took us directly to the train station. Thanks Paul and staff for a lovely visit.
