Fantastic stay
Stayed at the Limes due to working in the area for a few days; great location for getting to the racecourse, parking was ample and the host was fantastic. Very welcoming and friendly, truly made you feel at home and recommended some local eateries for us to try. Would definitely recommend and would 100% stay again.

Conveniently positioned for access to town with small car park, room 1 was comfortable. Shower didn't seem to get very hot. Wasn't clear on arrival but became evident the next morning that our booking didn't include breakfast (nor did anyone's it seems!). This is more the fault of Hotels.com, as I always filter with 'breakfast include' - evidfently the small print must say you have to specifically ask for it (and pay extra?). However, several nearby cafes so all in all not a bad stay.

Disappointing
Very good clean room. Hotel.com website states room only but breakfast could be paid at hotel. Hotel's own website mentions breakfast. No breakfast was available.... We were referred to local cafe a good 10 min walk which wasn't open on Sunday. Hotel had no bar No staff and No lift. How does this justify a 4 star rating

Great location next to bus stop so could get into town easily, free parking on-site, lovely staff, clean rooms with tea and coffee etc, fab breakfast....we will definitely cone back!

Outstanding! Clean and spacious room, bus stop right in front or a 20 minutes walk to the centre. Very quiet and well-kept property as well as area in total. Superfriendly team!

Excellent stay at The Limes!!
Had a warm welcome when we arrived, room was spacious and clean. Lovely clean bathroom, with toiletries and clean towels. Breakfast was amazing, cater for all types, and with us being vegetarian, was not disappointed!! Fire alarm works, as some one had been vaping, and set it off. The staff were amazing. Nice to know you are safe.

Lovely people, really clean property, lovely pillows and comfortable bed. Full English breakfast was probably the best I've ever had! The vine tomatoes and black pudding were gorgeous! If walking into the city of York, go past Aldi and turn left, takes you down to the River Ouse and a lovely tree lined walk of about 1 and half miles.... or take a bus just opposite The Limes.

Fantastic Weekend
The hotel was higher than our expectations. Everywhere was immaculate & the staff super friendly. Breakfast delicious. The recommendations for restaurants in the city so useful resulting in two enjoyable evenings. All in all really happy with our choice & will be returning again before the end of the year. & will be recommending to our friends.

The property was lovely and had on site parking which was a plus! A lovely welcome from Jill when we arrived. A good 30 minute walk into the centre of York or a good bus service across the road, parking in town can be expensive! We were a family of 4 so had the downstairs room, double bed and bunk beds. Enough space for us all and a quiet room at the back of the property. The bathroom was small but everything we needed. The only thing I would change is to have bigger bath towels/sheets they were very small. There was a lovely lounge where we sat and read with a self service bar ( not free of course)Breakfast was delicious and a great choice, veggie options too. Would recommend this place as it caters for everything you would need

Lovely staff and all the basics covered.
Lovely staff, room was fine with all the basics, we were able to park and the location is quite good. The rooms are quite old fashioned and a little tired, so I definitely would not recommend here if this matters to you. I would advise that this is a guest house and not a hotel, so set your expectations accordingly.

Highly recommend this lovey place to stay.
The Limes Hotel had more of a guesthouse feel but was a great place to stay. The location for sightseeing in York was perfect. We was able to walk to everywhere we wanted to go. The hotel was very clean and the owners were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommended the breakfast, tasty and freshly prepared. Only down side was we needed an early start and breakfast doesn’t start to 8.30 pm but they we very helpful and allowed us to have an simpler breakfast at an earlier time. Would highly recommend this hotel and we will stay here again if we return to York.
