Two night stay while visiting YosemitePosted Oct 6, 2015
Cons: Dinner - could be a more casual and affordable option for when you don't want a big meal
Check in was a great experience - lady was very helpful and welcoming. Room is simple but sufficient. Parking right outside room. Restaurant is so cozy and atmospheric. Dinner was nice albeit fairly expensive. Breakfast which was included was great and the breakfast staff were fantastic. Just be aware this is approx 1 hour drive on winding Highway 41 from Yosemite View Lodge where buses leave from if you are wanting to go to the park every day. Overall really recommend this place.

Beautiful SurroundingsPosted Sep 12, 2015
Pros: Scenery, the large deck outside our room, and the food was excellent.
Cons: Room was well-worn. Our room was directly under the kitchen, so we heard the staff moving about in the evening and early morning.
Location: South gate of Yosemite is close. The Yosemite Sugar Pine Railroad is right next door, although the hotel does not have an easy access to it.
We enjoyed our stay. The setting, being Yosemite, was beautiful, of course. The hotel is old, and could use some refurbishing, but it lacked nothing in comfort. The restaurant was first class...great food. The Prime Rib was to die for...order the large cut and get an extra plate, it will feed two people and you will still be stuffed. We were traveling with our dog, and unlike the accommodations at Curry Village, the NGI is dog-friendly.

This was a very nice place to stay, it had a cottage feel. The only thing I would wish for would be a bigger shower. The on site restaurant was excellent and so nice after a long day of sightseeing and hiking. Make sure to try the deserts.

Quaint and homely (and close to the park!)Posted Aug 22, 2015
Pros: It's style, quaintness, homeliness, and location.
Cons: Better air-con and a bigger breakfast selection please!
Location: Ideal - Yosemite is 4 miles away, Bass Lake is 10 miles away, the nearest town about the same. Perfectly placed!
The Narrow Gauge Inn is extremely close to Yosemite's south entry, so is ideally placed. It is a lovely little place; small, homely and cute. The rooms are smaller than average and a tiny bit dated, but perfectly fine and very clean. The staff are great and the restaurant is superbly decorated (although breakfast, whilst nice, is limited in choice). Most important, it is very quiet and peaceful - ideal after a hard day in the woods! Would I stay again? Hell yes! Coincidentally, my friend and his family stayed at a much bigger Tanaya Lodge up the road - more expensive, much bigger and no soul! Stay at the Narrow Gauge!

No cumple criterios mínimosPosted Aug 17, 2015

Posted Aug 4, 2015

Nice service but the room is stuffy in summerPosted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: Location, service
Cons: Better air circulation system.
Location: Sugar pine Train , Glacier point and Yosemite Valley.
The staffs are very nice. However, there is no air conditioner and good air circulation in the room. We lived there in July and the day temperature was around 85. The room was so stuffy and I couldn't sleep until midnight.
