Yosemite National Park cabin in Yosemite West with kitchen and balcony
*Please Note there is STAIRS and the Unit is one of the OLDEST cabins in the AREA!

Centrally located to Yosemite National Park's best-loved areas, this Yosemite West home is only a half-hour drive north to Yosemite Village or 20 minutes to world-famous Yosemite Valley; heading south, it is 20 minutes to historic Wawona with golf and stables in summer and a half-hour to the famed Mariposa Grove of Big Trees (Giant Sequoias).Heading east, it is a short drive to winter fun at Yosemite's Badger Pass Ski Area, which offers downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding.
In between there are numerous trails for hiking through forests and meadows, fishing in streams and rivers, and enjoying the native flora and fauna. Yosemite West is a beautiful mountain forest area, ideal for evening walks and listening to birdsong.  Your home comes complete with beds freshly made, bath linens provided, and the kitchen including everything from flatware to cookware. And, when comparing the price of The Log Home at Yosemite West to staying in a typical hotel room (which requires eating out for every meal), you'll find this is not only enjoyable but also economical.

*Please NOTE: Due to the homes position( Between Large Trees) the Satellite wifi in the home in sometimes non existent. It is not listed as an amenity. We can give you other locations wifi so you can check your email and devices. Verizon Phones do have a little service at the home.

Property conditions & facilities

1/5 Terrible

Missing TV and surprise person living in storage room of house
We like to watch the news at night and the property description said it had a TV and entertainment center. There was no TV and all the wiring was ripped out of the entertainment center. Biggest surprise was when I went out at night and heard something behind me. Turns out someone was living below in our rental in a storage room. This was disturbing to find out in the middle of the night and especially to my wife and daughter. This should have been disclosed. No light in refrigerator, light on nightstand did not work. No curtains between houses, even though there are curtain rods. Five forks. Luckily we did not have six people. No wine glasses. No toaster. Property management was indifferent and did nothing to resolve any issues even after three phone calls.

5/5 Excellent

Great week in Yosemite
Great place to stay. A great deal on a log cabin with four bedrooms and two bathrooms inside Yosemite. Cabin was clean and well stocked. Had fans for each bedroom as it can get hot in Yosemite in August. Front porch is a good place to hang out after a long day of hiking. Wifi and Cell phone service is weak everywhere in Yosemite.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities
Dont waste your money!!! I spent 2 days on this property. Trash was not removed from previous people. Rats in the house. No air conditioning. No lights in front porch. Only one tv in the house and was broken. Water pouring downstairs from bathroom upstairs. The fan in my bedroom was broken. I tried to make contact with management company to ask for a refund because all these problems and i was ignored. I am really disapointed.

2/5 Poor

Abandoned cabin. Owner needs to respond to their guests.
The property is a reasonably well-appointed cabin. The communication with the owner and maintenance appear to be non-existent. Neither the TV nor internet work, and based on the timing of past reviews there does not appear to be an effort or intent to fix either of those. It makes me wonder why they bother to pass out WiFi access codes in the check-in instructions - given that the WiFi access point does not exist. On the morning of my departure, I sent a note to the owner via the mechanism in VRBO to request check-in instructions. Since then, my 3-day stay has come and gone, and the owner has never replied. (Fortunately my wife was able to find the check-in instructions that were previously sent.) But that tells me that the owner does not monitor the communication channel, and pays little if any attention to the needs of their guests. Overall, we always enjoy Yosemite, and did not let this ruin our visit. But I would not stay there again.

2/5 Poor

Penny-wise but Pound-foolish
This is a solid and lovely log-cabin in Yosemite West. But the furniture, pans, even closets were horrible. The bed in one room was sloped with springs that were barely contained. The bed I ended up in was more hammock than mattress. Two arm chairs were falling apart. The frying pan was battered, peeling and the handle barely attached. There were splinters to be had from the rug. The closet doors falling off. The fans made noise but did not actually blow air. For a few thousand dollars, the place could be well equipped and it would be great, but it was equipped with fraternity house rejects. Moreover, the internet basically didn't work and you couldn't get the managing company on the phone. We had a great time in Yosemite, but the house was a bad joke.
