I knew it was a budget hotel going in, so I wasn't expecting much. It was a large room though, TV reception wasn't great, overall a run down place, but I didn't think it would be anything else. Just needed a place to sleep for the night and it fit that requirement.

The whole floor slanted to one corner, lighting to low and very drab in color. Furnishings old whole room seemed dark and drab. One bed sheets did not look clean child drawings with pen on sheet and hair.

Don't even stay here if you need peace & quiet!
The motel is not too bad unless of course you need to get some sleep! The room 2 doors down from mine was being remodeled, & at 10pm I heard hammering coming from some where! I went outside to investigate, & I asked the worker to please knock off the hammering, but that only lasted for a few minutes, & the oise resumed. I placed a call to the front office shortly after, & again the hammering stopped for a brief period. I then placed a 2nd call to the office, and told them that if the hammering & construction noise didn't cease that I would call the local police. I heard the manager come out & talk with the worker. Finally around 11pm the construction noise finally ceased!

Convenient, & Friendly
We have stayed at the Mountain View Inn previously. The owners are very easy to work with. The location is conviently located near I-5, shopping and food. Parking is easy and secure being inside the courtyard. If you are looking for an easy and quiet place to spend the night or a few days, you definitely want to look here for a good option.

Comfortable stay!
We had a very comfortable stay. Room 21 was very clean. It had two queen beds. The beds were clean and very comfortable. Overall the hotel was clean and the service was very good. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and pleasant. We came with the family and enjoyed the stay. Would definitely stay here again if we are in the area. Overall there was a good vibe!

Overall a good place to stay
It took forever for the room to cool down with the old air conditioning and I would recommend getting new flat screen TVs. The area was okay not really much to do considering I couldn't drive my truck.

I drove up to the office, and felt uncomfortable. I went in and checked in, clerk was pleasant. I was assigned s room number and given a key. I located my room, and there were individuals outside of my room door that looked very sketchy and scraggly. I felt very uncomfortable, turned my car around and went back into the office. I told the clerk I could not stay there because I was not comfortable. He gave me a credit and I left

Complete failure on the basics of low key motel.
Bed sheets had no less than 5 different types of hair and other debris in between the layers of sheets and comforters. I know the bed spread is normally not changed in motels, but, I expect new and clean sheets to sleep on. The pillows cases were yellow stained also. I could overlook the low quality towels, out dated tv and stained carpet flooring but, the bedding is basic.

Gross!!
Went to check in and the front office was gross. Got the key to the room floors didn't look vaccumed at all. Moved the blanket and there was like red spots on the sheets. Moved the sheets to find bed bugs!! Webs were in the corner of the room. They wouldn't refund us just offered another room. We left- you couldn't pay me to stay there. So so so gross!!

you know what bed bug is ? you are the type of people who don't to pay the price and expect the service of 5 star. you should never ever stay at any motel. Pros: The check in and out were fast and friendly. The bed was comfy. NO bedbugs. Cons: The floor was so dirty it turned our feet black. The toilet broke after the first flush, the sheets on one of the beds had obviously not been washed with dirt and smudges all over the sheets (there was also something that looked like ketchup on the side of the sheets). One of the locks on the door was broken off.

The hotel room smelled like cigarette smoke, dirty sheets, dirty towels, not vacuumed. Advertised view of mountains but instead we had a view of the street and a wall. The desk clerk was kind but did not offer a refund when we said we couldn't stay the second night. Would have checked out immediately but were getting there very late and had no where else to stay at that late hour.

This hotel stated they had smoking and non-smoking rooms, and it was the cheapest I could find in Yreka that specifically said non-smoking, so I booked it ahead of time. When we arrived, It looked a little run down but after driving 10 hours it was nice to take a break. The manager was very nice, and he had all the paperwork prepared for us. But when we got into the room, it stank of stale cigarette smoke, and I complained to the manager. He offered us another room which wasn't so rank, and we were too tired to complain, so we accepted it. After a few hours we could smell the stale smoke smell again. Next door to us, in another unit marked "NON-SMOKING", there was a guy standing outside the room, with the door open, smoking. I doubt there could be a true, never-smoked-in room in this hotel, given the age of the place, which means that if you have sensitivity to smoke and need a true non-smoking room, do not stay at this place. In addition, the coffee pot had coffee grinds in the water reservoir and two damp, stale coffee filter packs in the coffee basket. The linen was clean, and it was quiet at night. I think the management is trying their hardest to make a reputable business of this hotel, but the smell of smoke in the rooms what bothered me most. Also, it was at the North end of town, quite a few blocks from most of the stores and businesses.

Disgusting dirty motel
The hotel was so dirty I'm pretty sure they didn't wash the bed they just made it. I found a black hair on my pillow and a women's hair flip in the bed!!! There were also spider webs up in the corner of the room. The door had a no smoking sign on it but the room reakednof cigarette smoke. The room was so gross I didn't even stay more than two hours i Coke my desk with it.

Its just a fine place to crash and take a shower.
It was quiet and the heater worked great. The man who checked me in was very nice. The property itself is a motel with typical motel jankyness. I got bit by something (probably bed bugs) but that is to be expected in a motel (just wash everything when you get home).

I realize that Yreka is not a place with a lot of wealth going around, so it's understandable that a place like this exists there. But I think this rundown hotel should have been torn down years ago. Probably built in the 1940s-50s, this place has not been upgraded (though it's sorely in need of it), but the owners just don't have the money to do so. Even the big MOTEL sign above it looks extremely tired and is an eyesore to the community. The first thing I noticed when checking into my room was the horrible smell in it. I doubt it was simply the bed or the carpets--everything reeked. I was able to stand it by opening the windows to let air in. Had it been possible to cancel the reservation, I would have, but the clerk at the desk confirmed to me that it was not possible to cancel. Due to financial limitations in my own case, I was forced to grin and bear it and stay there. Having stayed at the Motel 6 in this town before, I would opt to go there instead. At least if you want to cancel there, you can.

The shower was dirty and the caulking and tiles were cracked. The room smelled of cigarette smoke. The shower hot water turned to cold when the sink faucet was turned on. There was hole on the inside of the door where someone had kicked it or hit it. I felt the door locks were inadequate. I would not, not recommend this hotel

I've seen worse, but...
The gentleman who checked me in was nice enough, and efficient. However... The room reeked of tobacco smoke, although I didn't see any signs of ashtrays or nicotine staining on the walls - my nose ran almost the entire time I was in the place. Nothing resembling tissues, but there was toilet paper. The bathroom fixtures and other furniture were straight out of the late 1950s/early 1960s, except for the bed and the TV. There was a small Mr Coffee setup with one-count-it-one packet of coffee. On the plus side, there was complimentary wireless Internet, and the place was just a couple blocks off of I-5 and easy to find. A grocery store and a restaurant or two are within walking distance. It is in a reasonably quiet area, as well. The bed was fairly comfortable and unlike some places, they didn't stint on decent pillows. Overall, I'd give it 1.5 - 2 stars. If you're a single smoker without kids who needs a cheap room for a night or two, go for it.

There isn't anything about this motel to recommend it but the price. It was old, shabby and not particularly clean. The owner was very nice, but it's just got too many strikes against it. The bed wasn't comfortable, the shower filled up with water...the capper was the air conditioner. It started squealing at 4am. That was it for me.
