OMG! We are not snobs, but......Posted Feb 8, 2010
The hotel seemed ok at first. It was freezing when we got there and there was no heat. The first room that we looked at (a Jr suite) was not satisfactory and the person at the front desk said there was no heat in any of the rooms. We looked at 2 other rooms (both doubles and less expensive) and settled on the warmest - which was NOT warm. We asked for extra blankets which we got, and then the faucet in the bathroom fell off. The front desk said we could use their propane heater but only for one hour at a time. We wanted to nap as we had taken the red-eye and they said we wouild need to call the front desk in one hour (I guess to make sure we were still alive). Then they said we could "rent" an electric heater for about $18 a day, even though we paid for a larger unit than we were staying in. After a couple of hours of using the electric heater, the room was no warmer. We found another hotel a block away for about the same rate. The gentleman at Hotel Reyna Soledad charged us for one day even though we were only there for a couple of hours. Also, the kitchenette they mention is a community kitchen on the second floor of the hotel.
