Not as all Inclusive as you would think

We bought an all inclusive yet they kept trying to upcharhe us for everything. The meals were OK at best but the staff did not treat you well unless you tipped them!

Expedia failed us

Pros: The hotel itself was great. Very family friendly, food was good, staff was nice.
Cons: The shows at hotel were cheesy. There is not much night life at hotel. There is a bar in the hotel lobby which was not in the least bit exciting
Location: The beachfront location was great. Not much else around it.
The only issue we had is that I made it clear to EXPEDIA I NEEDED two rooms with an adjoining door because I have little kids. When we got to hotel they have us two rooms apart from each other. There were no other rooms available. So the first night my husband and I had to sleep apart, separate the kids, and down hall. Then the 2nd night we had to pack up and moves rooms to a room with adjoining door. In order for this to happen, I had to make a big stink about and wasted almost two hours of my time. The hotel blamed Expedia stating they shouldnt promise this type of request/reservation because its not promised at hotel.

The beach was very nice

The room was filthy every day. It was loud by the pool. The adult pool was very nice. Would not stay here again

Great Beach Front Resort

Pros: The personal touch of fruit and wine welcome gift. Adult only pool area. Lobby Bar entertainment.
Cons: Informng guests before they arrive that they will be strongly encouraged to take in the Vacation Plan presentation.
Location: Beach front. Great bars, restaurants, shops within walking distance. Buses, pulmonias, taxis right out front.
All Inclusive Oceanview upgraded to Oceanfront as request for king not available at check in. The room was comfortable, clean, spacious and quiet considering we were steps away from the very busy beach. "Banda" and beach venders just add to the charm of Mazatlan. Global Edm and Sportsnet were offered on In Rm TV. Be aware WiFi is not free. We found all staff to be friendly and courteous but want to extend a special thank you to Fabiola, concierge. The adult only pool area at El Moro was an oasis, so appreciated; but even music at family pools was kept to a normal level. Waiters were very prompt with beverages and food from the pool snack bar (great burgers). We found the buffet eateries' selections varied and tasty but preferred the beach patio for the ocean/beach view. The waiters always had a smile for us. The Italian restaurant was our favourite. We actually did not have time in our week to visit all the eateries. We look forward to planning another very relaxing vacation.

Great hotel

I've been staying at El Cid resort for several years and have always had an excellent stay... This time was the exception, I had some trouble checking in, there has to be some type of arrangement that of you have more than 2 children parents must really keep them quiet, I was in a room that were 2 families with 6 plus kids that was insane ( I am surprised because I counted 3 adults and 8 children in one room)

Amazing hotel on the beach

We loved it all. Our favorite server, Roberto is the best. Have been going here for 10 years and will be back next year!!!! Food is amazing.

Great place to stay, accommodations for every for

Pros: All the great and friendly service
Cons: Nothing at the moment
Location: the location was downtown, close to the ocean and offered many things to do close by
We arrived and were greeted by the bell boy who grabbed our bags without out question. Check in was fast and our bell boy had our things in our room in no time. All the staff was very accommodating, the place was neat and clean and the pools and outdoor waiters were excellent. We will definitely be back

Best Hotel/Resort in Mazaltan

The stay was amazing! We had access to the other hotels from El Cid, which were el Moro and Marina. Also the Golf course and all the other amenities. The cabanas out by the ocean were free to us too. The pools were so clean and nice. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. They even had free shows at each hotel! At 8:30pm by the pool there was a fire show outside with a story line and dance. We had the perfect ocean view balcony. The place was the best I saw on the beach strip.

Great pool view and ocean view

Great weather during our stay March 13-20 and hotel was clean. Stayed at Castilla which had small rooms and no stocked refrigerator. Other all-inclusives we've visited have a stocked fridge with beer, water and soda. Staff were friendly and helpful. The Moro, which was connected to the Castilla, was the same price and had 2 room suites with a refrigerator. Wish I would have researched that more as we had 2 teenagers with us. The food was average but lots of variety. We made great family memories and would recommend to others.

Perfect place in the Golden Zone.

Enjoyed the staff, the hotel, the variety of restaurants, the shuttle service between properties and right in the middle of the best nightlife. Safe, secure and beautiful property. My mother took her jewelry out of the safe and somehow left the bag tangled in the sheets, and we left, checked out downstairs and awaited our shuttle to the airport. Well, Margarita, the lady who had been cleaning our room all week, called down to the front desk to have them let me know we forgot something. I was given a keycard to go retrieve my mother's thousands of dollars in jewelry. When I got upstairs I hugged her and tipped her again. We were both overwhelmed with joy! I'll never stay anywhere else but El Cid when I come to Mazatlan.
