Excellent Hotel

We could not have asked for a better place to stay. We had a Superior Ocean View room that was above Superior. The staff were all very helpful and very nice. The only con was that the sky bar wasn't open during the day.

Great location

Pros: Location, very convenient
Cons: Hotel does not offer complementary transportation as advertised, they need to be specific
Location: shopping centers, activities and pharmacies nearby
We enjoyed our stay at the Barcelo, staff was friendly, location is perfect since hotel is close to shopping areas and other amenities. The only inconvenience we experienced was that transportaion was advertised as complementary from and to airport and that was not the case for us. We ended up paying for our own transportation. When we showed the hotel clerk our reservation confirmation, he said that it was Expedia's fault for advertising wrong. They send my complaint to Expedia and was told they would get back to me within 48 hours. It has been over a week and I have not heard back.

Pros: 1) Food, location and staff were fantastic. 2) Outdoor maintenance was the best I've seen with meticulous flower beds, clean walkways, etc.
Cons: 1) furniture on balcony needs to be replaced 2) better quality bed linen 3) quality of the shows at night need to be improved
Wonderful resort on the beach. Several pools available with ample lounge chairs and umbrellas. Rooms are clean, however towel replenishment was hit and miss. Face and hand towels were not provided some days unless requested. Room repairs were handled immediately when requested which was great to see. The food at all the buffet and restaurants was fantastic. Lots of variety and very tasty. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Fantastic location. Crashing waves, caring staff.

Pros: Location, proximity to beach, food, staff.
Cons: Initial impression of room (superior) was not overwhelming. It was simple and comfortable, but not lavish, which is fine, but floors were not clean.
Location: Beach right there, lots of places within walking distance and many tours available with pick up from the resort.
Loved every minute of my stay there. The staff were all excellent. All kinds of activities available, and the resort is well laid out, with some privacy and quiet relaxing areas. Food was fantastic, with lots of choices. It is very convenient to San Jose del Cabo township, and to local transportation into Cabo. If you like the sound of crashing waves and the convenience of an all-inclusive resort, this is for you.

Nice environment

When I booked the room, I made a mistake put one person instead of two. The guy told me to call Expedia to get a lower rate which I did and he said I was going to get the same room but I end up getting a room with no view, so I was displeased about that.

Beautiful location, mediocre food

Pros: Pool, lounge areas, and our room.
Cons: The food and activities.
Location: Stunning beach but waves too high to get in the water.
The pool, lounge areas, and our room were all wonderful. Gorgeous setting and very attentive staff. Unfortunately the food was mediocre, even in the a la carte restaurants. The best dishes we had, besides breakfast, were the soups. Combined with the lack of activities, we won't be back. If you want to just lay by the pool and drink, and await the next mediocre meal (altho there is plenty of it), this is a great spot.

Great Resort

Batcelo seems like one of the better resorts in the area. You definately get a great bang for your buck here. It is clean and modern. The staff are friendly. The food is of good quality and available all the time. The open bar is also great. My only recommendation is to stay away from the open food near the pool as I did get sick on my first night there, probably because of eating from there. Everything else was great.

Great location close to the beach.

Pros: Food was excellent and consistent. Close to downtown (within walking distance). Serving staff and front desk staff were great.
Cons: Inconsistent maid service (lack of towels, face clothes). WiFi should be included in the room prices!!
Location: Close to banks and shopping. Easy local bus service.
We stayed 2 weeks. The "in house" entertainment was decent but not fabulous. Of course some of the entertainment was better than others, but a decent variety. I would definitely go back again....very enjoyable overall.

Nice hotel close to beach

Enjoy this hotel, this was the 4th visit. Was sad to see the quality of upkeep has dropped down. ie straws on step from night before. Plastic place mats were dirty, even the other side. Staff are always helpful and curtious. Room could have been cleaned a bit better.
