Great place to lose weight!

Posted Feb 24, 2018
Pros: Nice, clean hotel with friendly staff - located on the beach.
Cons: The food and alcohol choices.
Location: Restaurants and shops are within walking distance. If you'd rather take a cab, they're fairly inexpensive - unless you're going to the Marina.
Nice, clean hotel with friendly staff. Food was horrible. We tried both the buffet and made reservations at the restaurant. We couldn't eat the food - regardless of the meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner). One morning we ordered omelets - you can't mess up an omelet -right? Wrong. It was horrible as well. Luckily we weren't far from several restaurants. If you're booking this hotel for the all-inclusive - skip this property - food leaves a lot to be desired, and the alcohol, although flowing, is definitely not top shelf). If you're booking for the overall atmosphere (clean, friendly staff, on the beach, inexpensive) then it's an ok spend. Our room had a partial ocean view (we could see both the beach and water from our room). The demographic for this property seemed to be middle aged to early senior Canadians (Americans were plentiful as well; however, most of the people that we met were from Canada). Guests were nice and added to the overall pleasant experience at the resort. Although the property is located on the beach, you can't swim in the water (it's too rough). You can however sit on the beach and watch the whales (we saw several during our stay - which made the trip pretty good).

AWESOME STAY!

Posted Feb 23, 2018
Pros: VERY Relax... If you are there to zone out/ relax in the sun by the pool/beach, drink, eat and continue relaxing....this is the hotel for you!
Cons: Pool-STOP letting people put their belongings/towels on chairs by 6/7am"reserving"& NOT using them ALL day, leaving NO chairs available. REMOVE THEM!
Location: 1/2 Hour Horse Riding by the Beach. OUTSTANDING Staff Members- Felipe, Fernando from Breakfast & Lunch and Liney, Luis at the Bar! VERY Attentive!
I read a lot of reviews of disappointed people complaining about the hotel itself, the food not "Mexican" enough, drinks, and the staff. However,I am glad I gave Holiday Inn Resort a chance despite the unwelcoming reviews. Not"fancy",but GREAT My 1st time to Cabos, I traveled with my 7yr old daughter and mother, from beginning to the last day of my stay it was just AMAZING! We had a Balcony Room (very clean) near the Family/ Kids Pool Area (per my request). Staff very kind, friendly and attentive for whatever we may have needed. Drinks, you are in Mexico..so if you want a heavy drink, drink Tequila!!! Food, they had 2 restaurants; Reservation Restaurant a La Carta or Buffet which had a variety, they always have a few dishes of their Mexican Culture (if you know the difference!), as well as a variety of dishes, pasta, seafood rice, vegetables, chicken, etc etc etc... I would say it was very WELL balanced... We got to experience their Chinese Nite Theme with Chinese food of course (sweet sour chicken, salad, noodles, broccoli, rice, etc); as well as experience Mexican Nite with outdoor buffet of their specialty dishes and a taco grill station (pork/ chicken) with a LIVE Show which was AWESOME!!!! NO matter what culture you were, EVERYONE had a GREAT TIME that nite! I was hooked for lunch with the Tacos by the beach, Fish and Carnitas (pork) Tacos was DELICIOUS!!!! They came in a set of 3, We had a little bit of everything each day, Tacos, Nachos, Fries, Shrimp Cocktail..so GOOD

Great deal

Location: Nice location. Away from the traffic.
Staff-excellent. Friendly and helpful Food very good. Clean-excellent Pools for noisy and quite people. Family pool is for the introverts and grandparents. We loved it. Nice gym. Not fancy but adequate. Activity schedule is like a cruise without the ship. Internet is" hotel slow".

Pros: The staff and the convenient location.
Cons: N/A
Location: Went for 5 nights and not interested in doing excursions. It all depends what kind of holiday you want. Great place for poolside and beach relaxing.
Perfect hotel for a quick getaway from rainy, snowy North American weather. A short commute from the airport. Staff were friendly, helpful and generally lovely demeanors. An all around affordable and relaxing all-inclusive.

Hotel close to beach, but just ok

Posted Feb 21, 2018
The hotel room has air conditioning, but our sheets were not changed for 4 nights, and we had little bugs ALL over our bathroom. Staff were very friendly, and helpful especially Enrique and Alva. Quiet, for older couples. 10 minute walk ,2 minute drive to get into town.

Excellent Hotel & location!!

Posted Feb 21, 2018
Pros: Everything! Mostly pool and beach bar!
10 min walk into San Jose! Beautiful beaches, not too crowded! Awesome Pool and Beach Ocean bar! Drinks and food were better than we expected! Clean rooms, King size bed was very comfortable! We had a room garden / ocean view on first floor with a personal hammock right outside our door. All the plants/gardens were very well maintained and gorgeous! New beach restaurant and bar were the absolute best! Grabbing a drink by the bar and seeing the ocean and whales....wow! Could sit there for hours ...and did :) No sellers bothering you either, that was nice! Took a taxi to San Lucas for a 45 min boat ride, got dropped off at Lovers Beach and picked up an hour later, just like they promise, that was a great experience! Went to Cabo Wabo too! Peaceful vacation!

We knew what we were getting

Posted Feb 20, 2018
Pros: Beautiful setting and the ocean-view room was lovely. I would spring for the extra money for the ocean-view if at all possible.
Cons: Front desk--more staff and better English language proficiency.
Location: Far from a swimmable beach and need a car to reach them
We had never stayed at an all-inclusive resort before and probably won't again. The food was abundant but pretty mediocre. We don't drink much so unlike many of our fellow guests, we were not sloshed all the time. I guess we would do better in a place where one could order off the menu and where wait staff would be not so rushed and more personal (there is something to be said for tips). That being said, we did not get sick which was better than many of our trips to Mexico! The front desk was often harried and since many of the guests were on tours, they were usually swamped. The English-language ability of the front desk was also somewhat "iffy" and I never knew if my questions were understood or really answered (on the other hand, we have had the same problem at other hotels in Mexico some of which were top-notch luxury properties. We also knew that there was a beautiful beach but only to look at. We would probably not return to this resort but would look at one closer or on a swimmable beach.

The location was excellent, staff very nice

Posted Feb 18, 2018
Pros: location, could use some more beach chairs
Cons: The food menu
Location: We loved the location, close to shops
We had an enjoyable stay at the hotel, we liked almost everything, but very disappointed in the food. They didn't have a very good variety especially when we were there for 2 weeks. Served almost the same thing everyday

Value

Posted Feb 18, 2018
Pros: Ocean breezes, outdoor dining, poolside activities, buffet restaurant, and lazy hammock naps!
Cons: Get new bed sheets. Did not like that guests saved lounge chairs and then never used them, but wonder what could prevent that from happening.
Location: The hotel was in between old town in one direction and ritzy tourist shopping area in the other.
We enjoyed our stay--it actually felt like we were on a cruise, especially because all rooms appeared to face either the Sea of Cortes or 1 of 4 pools. All meals and liquor were included, and just like a cruise ship, you could purchase a variety of excursions from the onsite tour desk. Our maid left flowers everyday cleverly arranged on our bed. Meals were served in either of 2 different restaurants--one was a buffet, the other offered a menu. Food was cruise ship quality--not the best, but not bad either--I'd rate it a B. I loved making my own salads and there were plenty of offerings for different lifestyle choices. The facility included a gym, spa, tennis and basketball courts, children's daycare, 4 pools, parking, etc. I had the best massage ever, although the spa was quaint, at best. Oh, and they had a show almost every evening. I did have one bad experience with the air conditioner, but it was promptly taken care of. My only other negative comment--the bed sheets were too thin--time to replace guys! All the staff were nice, from the reception desk to the maintenance people. Transportation from the airport was free (although arranging for it required some perseverance) but the return was not included, so we had to spend $25 on a taxi to get back to the airport. Other than that, there were no hidden fees.

Great night’s sleep

Posted Feb 17, 2018
This resort is located at the end of the hotel strip next to a bird sanctuary and is very quiet. Our bed was very comfortable and our room faced the sanctuary with a full ocean view giving us a great night’s sleep. the staff was friendly, helpful and very hard working but the staff to guest ratio seemed a little low leaving us to sometimes wait for service. The food was average with enough variety to please most eaters. We always found a spot around one of the 4 pools and used the gym facilities daily. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxed get away.
