Friendly staff. Excellent food.

Pros: Staff and food.
Cons: Could use a little updating
We had booked Riu Santa Fe, but had to change due to tropical storm Lidia. We were very happy with Royal Solaris! Rooms are a little bit dated, but staff and quality of food is excellent.

We stayed 4 nights and our stay was great... we hung out at the pool most days and our waiter Ace Ventura really took care of us... anything we needed he was right there for our whole group...and Omar at the front door got us to where we needed to go out on the town... food was good but not a huge selection at the buffet... but Ace made our trip great!!!

Great stay, with some caveats

Pros: The always flowing food and alcohol is wonderful, and the staff is lovely and welcoming.
Cons: There is nothing to do at night after the show ends. Unless you plan on going to downtown Cabo San Lucas, you will be bored.
Location: This is in San Jose del Cabo, NOT San Lucas. San Lucas is about 30 KM away, but you can drive or take the bus, which runs very consistently.
My friend and I stay here for a week. Overall, we had a good time and enjoyed the all-inclusive nature of the resort. The food was good, not spectacular, but there was plenty of it. We made reservations for Marco Polo several times and enjoyed the different menus. We also went to Panchos once and liked that too. However, you do need to call at 9 AM otherwise you won't be able to get a reservation. And note, even though it says they have 5 restaurants, the truth is, there is only ever one restaurant and one buffet open each day, so there aren't as many choices as it seems. There are 3 pools, the main one, a kiddie one, and the adult pool. They are all clean but have a tendency to be warm. The staff is very welcoming and there for you, always asking if you would like something to drink. As far as alcohol goes, the pool bar is very watered down, so go to one of the other bars for proper drinks. The room is good, not fancy but decent, and I thought the beds were comfortable. The staff does a good job cleaning. The air conditioning works well. I have no complaints. Entertainment however, is a bit lacking. While the entertainment staff is wonderful and fun to talk to, there really isn't a lot going on. The shows each night are excellent and I'd highly recommend going, but after the show ends there isn't anything to do. The pools close at 8 PM, so at night you find yourself a bit bored and wondering what to do. Overall, we had a great stay, but not a spectacular one.

Clean, great location. Don't expect fine dining and you'll be fine. Plenty of healthy choices. Beautiful pool area and lounge chairs in the beach too!

You get what you pay for.

I think this place is decent, I mean, you get what you pay for. On a quest for a quick inexpensive efficient trip, this is a good choice. If you want a more "luxury" experience, this is not your place. This is a kid friendly location. Drinks are acceptable, but not great. I tend to think they pour based on the color of your wristband, not sure. The customer services was not great. However, I may be biased cause I started my vacationing with RIU and they are literally the best option for the buck, in my opinion. Some downfalls: - construction was annoying - Customer services wasn't wonderful -Food was okay, specific things - drinks were not heavy, unless you prompted them to be Upside: Low cost adventure

Things to remember

For the money it was the best priced since all inclusive. However since I don't drink and don't eat meat I could have found a better deal. I go to Mexico twice a year and this was the 1st time not best experience I wanted. Food was good and plenty of choices Hotel stuff was great Hotel in need of repair badly in some places but work was on the way while I was there, so may be my timing was bad. The ceiling in lobby was partially missing and on 3rd floor. Hotel modified original design and covered front windows with plastic, a very ugly option. Looked cheap. Hotel uses plug ins all throughout main lobby. I have terrible allergies to plug ins and surprised I had to be exposed to these chemical on my vacation. Also people allow to smoke on porches so smelled in my room. The same is allowed by the restaurant near ocean. So central area smells like smoke. Internet and wi fi pretty much was worthless. I was not even able to make a call or connect to Internet. I wanted to change hotel, but insurance that I purchased from Expedia only valid if you need to cancel your trip prior. So that was a waste$95. Overall. If I knew all this I would not stay at that hotel.

Hotel was ok. View from our window was beautiful. Restaurants were average. Not to many things in the buffet .

Affordable Hotel

Good hotel for the price. There were issues with it, the staff is slow when addressing reported issues. Have to call multiple times and when they say it's fixed...it really isn't. Example the ac broke down called multiple times. Tried to fix multiple times, we had to change rooms at midnight the day before last. We reported it the 1st day! Trying to find a common ground about a discount or a credit was like to liking teeth or waste of time. Other than that everything else was good better than I expected for the price.

This was a very nice hotel, the staff was great and the food was good. They were doing some clean up after a major storm the week before, but over all good experience. I would definitely return on another occasion.

Close to Beach

Check in took over a half an hour. To many people trying to sell you thing right when you get there. Room was clean and fridge was stocked. Lack of staff around the pool and swim up pool was closed.🙁 Activity staff to young and games were not exciting. Great food even on the buffets and great service at the restaurants. Hotel tried to charge us a fee for holding our luggage until our shuttle got there.
