No flexibility on customer service. Breakfast only start from 7 am, I requested to provide some simple breakfast for take out at 645am since I need to go for a tour, but the staffs were so strict and no flexibility at all to give us even a piece of bread. The beach closed at 6pm even I was told at 7pm. Why close the beach so early??

Thank you for your preference, our restaurante open at 7:00 am for healthy and procedures we are not able to take food out the restaurant before our open hour. We do not close the beach, it is permanentely open but we suggest do not enter once start darknes

The staff people were so nice and understanding of our needs. I will always cherish this vacations on my heart and mind. Fell in love with the city and the Cancun people.

The villas are beautiful, the hotel rooms are nice and well kept. The staff is very nice, especially their bell hop who tooks a lot of heavy bags to our rooms during out 5 day stay.

The front desk clerk was very slow. Took 40 min to check in and at no point he apologized or provided reasons for the delay. There was no line. The food wasn't really good. They only have on restaurant in the entire resort and it was buffet all the time. Not much to choose from. The cakes were really good. The rooms did not have a hair dryer, no napkins although they had the set up. No conditioner and nothing more than 2 towels and one hand towel. Not even 2. We asked for double beds, they gave us one king. Did not bather to change anything. No customer service. The staff doesn't understand English and they seem to like it that way because they don't do anything for you (They don't understand what you want and really do not care to find out what you need). No customer service at all. Came home with a lot of bites, just praying not to be bed bugs at this time. The cocktails tasted no alcohol. The massage was the only thing that was good, at that resort. If you don't mind spending a little more, do not stay here. I stayed at another resort in Cancun for $70 more and everything was at a different level. I was quite disappointed with Solymar.

Pros: nothing
Cons: everything should improve the color of the rooms
it was a bad experience bad service everything was sucks the food the rooms and the staff

Nice resort to the beach- very outdated

I really loved Solymar. Came here for my birthday celebration/vacation and loved every moment of Cancun. The hotel is certainly a bit outdated, BUT, they were currently working on renovations on the other side, so hopefully they will work on some things that were really outdated in the rooms like more light fixtures, a better latch on sliding doors for balcony, lighting in bathroom. The staff was IMPECCABLE. We had the all inclusive option, so we visited the bars frequently and the snack bar and the restaurant. The front desk management was soo helpful as well. I suggest for American travelers to bring at least $50 in single bills as sometimes the front desk didn't have change readily available when we wanted to leave. The city buses are quiet the experience. We took them to the strip to where the clubs and restaurants are. It's only 1 USD. Please also be advised that Solymar does NOT have wifi in the rooms. Only in the lobby and at the bar. I have an unlimited mobile plan, with an international package- but that's why I docked 1 star bc of the wifi and the front desk not having the currency exchange or USD cash to give change back when we need. Nonetheless, the pool is fun and it is VERY close to beach and the other resorts strips as well. ALSO. Beware of the guys that will try to up-sell you excursions @ the resort. Unnecessarily expensive and you can find deals on the strip
