Terrible for the price
Considering the price we paid the room was really basic. I've stayed in cheaper hotels in Zurich that were considerably better than this one. All the furniture was old, the bed uncomfortable and the pillows were absolutely terrible. The tiny room felt more like a low security prison than a hotel. Positives it was clean and in a relatively nice area.

What I found very unique about this property is that a unique code is generated to be entered into a machine in front of apartment that will supply the key. It was fairly easy check in. The location was nice in a quiet neighborhood close to a small park. It was comfortable and very worth it for the price. This is an apartment so there is no reception and check out was as easy as dropping key back in machine no problems. Would definitely recommend this location and would even stay here again.

turned up to check in at 2pm and entered my code to get my key. No key!!!!! Had to ring and wait for man to show up who was very rude. After settling in realised the heater was not working.emailed the office to change apartment. They said they can’t. Spent 2 night in a freezing apartment in the middle of December. Too far from city center for the price they charge. No reception just rude staff. Avoid get a hotel in city center for the price you pay.

Summer with no fan and air condition
There’s was no air conditioned in the room and obviously it was not stated in the details itself when we booked the room. We emailed them and requested for a fan, however, they replied saying that no fan will be provided for this apartment. Ridiculous ? It’s not that cheap to book this apartment. At least a fan should be provided ? Is not even winter , it is summer! You got to be kidding.

Decent for the price
We used the apartment for a long weekend. Was quite decent for the price! Good quiet neighbourhood next to a park, and 20-30 min walk to town / 10 min to train station so well connected. Decent size for a studio, wit a balcony overlooking a quiet street. Couple small issues with the flat itself - some kitchen equipment was a bit worn, and there was no tablets for the dishwasher making it unusable. Also, come prepared with plug adapters, as their plugs were all a narrow Swiss type so our round EU plugs would not fit! The overall service could have been better - initially there was a problem with my card and the hotel just cancelled instead of trying to contact me and fix the issue / use a new card - so I had to rebook and was stressed about whether I'd get charged twice once my card is fixed.

Having managed to get in, the place was well laid out, close to where I needed to be and great value. Initially I struggled for access as there are two buildings very close together, but a ohone call to a friendly assistant get me sorted

I was told one thing on the phone and then when I got there it wasn’t. The code I was given to Check in didn’t work so I had to call the emergency number and wait forever to check in. It was a mess. The room was pretty spacious though. But no toiletries. Only one pillow and no access to more etc

We had problem checking in. The "machine" that is supposed to drop off the key was not working. We and two other parties ended up waiting on the street at night for an hour to have someone come and give us the keys. Other than this problem, everything in the apartment was great. I was impressed that there were cooking stove and cooking utensils, oven, iron, ironing board, etc. No complaints with the apartment.

The apartment was adequate for our needs. We were able to email the owner prior and organize key collection and check out. They were quick to respond to any email we sent. The room was clean and catered to our needs. It was a 30 min walk to the main part of Zurich. This wasn't an issue though as we enjoy walking to see the city. There was a few things to do in our local area. Overall I would recommend staying here.

Just don't bother
First. None of the phone numbers we found online worked so everything had to be done via email. When we arrived we found our double bed was two singles put together and they kept sliding apart. Our biggest issue was we traveled during the summer and there was NO AIR CONDITIONING! The cleaning crew were a pain as they stood outside our room shouting down the hall to each other early in the morning and rather than knocking on the door they just tried to open it. Thankfully we locked our door but it could of been very awkward if we had not. We would not recommend.

The apartment location and facilities were good, however, there was NO housekeeping done in 3 days (no linen change, no trash disposal, no replacement of towels/soaps etc. The main problem was that there was no-one to reach out to, in case of any queries/issues.

Although the express check in is easier and fast, they can avoid to give answer to your face why you get smaller room than what you paid for. I paid double from normal price but get the small room and by only way is calling them nothing they will do for you.

We needed two sets of keys and they couldn't give us a second set during our 10-days stay. Just wasted our time with empty promise of a second set that we never got. Awful service. There is no one there to help. You can just email and they will answer it after one/two days. If something goes wrong you are in trouble. The other tenants were quite noisy in the middle of night and there was no one to handle this.

This hotel is in a nice, quiet location with easy access to central Zurich. The room was comfortable with good self catering facilities and wi-fi. The cleaning needs more attention to detail which is why I would not recommend this hotel based on this stay.

Nice aparment with a 30 min walk to the centre. Nice neighbourhood. There were no cooking gear though, bad when you have already bought groceries and there is no one around. Bad view from first floor.

Excellent roof over head at Swiss Star
Simply a highly functional and clean room with kitchenette. A 2-minute walk to the Sihl River, which, if you follow its Linden Tree-lined banks, it takes you to mid and Old Town in about 10-15 minutes. Very inexpensive (for Zurich) and easily challenges the high-end hotels for people who have no need or interest in being stroked and cared for. 4 Stras

Hotel has no reception or representative at the location to be contacted. Wifi was available but can't able to connect it for two days as we don't have the cell number and can't register for wifi code; no one was there to help on weekends.

Below expectation
Location - outside of down town. 25 min walk to train station. Not much in the immediate area. Bed - sheets were terrible and pillows too small. No top sheet and duvet wasn't log enough for the bed. Bed was soft. Could feels springs and squeed when ever you rolled over . No Ac , was hot and stuffy inside. Only redeeming quality of the place was the mini kitchen. Enough plates, pots and cutlery.

The only trouble is in locating the hotel and the key box. It is very convenient to have a working kitchenette. Don't forget to take dishwashing soap with you though, They have a dishwasher in every room. The rooms are tiny but suffice :)

This place is located quite a distance from everything you come to see in Zurich as a tourist. Never saw any staff, you get your key via an automated key box. It is a small apartment and has everything you need to cook and store food. You need to be able to receive a text to use the WiFi, being from the US means that we were not able to.

Staying here is like having your own apt in ZH
This place is great! In order to get the keys you press the last 5 numbers of your booking and voila you have your keys to your apt. There is no reception. This is like a studio apartment with well equipped kitchen. Saved so much money going to migros shopping food and cooking breakfast in our kitchen. If you like to be the master of your destiny and travel on your own terms then this the place for you. However if you desperately require guidance and hate the idea of not having a reception to ask directions or even simply unable to figure out your own checkin for yourself then you will feel lost, lonely and vulnerable. Overall, I loved this hotel.. Would live there forever if it wasnt for the limited bookings on longterm rentals. **** 4STARS

iT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO FIUND THIS APARTMENT
It was the worst stay that I ever had in my 25 years of travel. First I could not find the apartment. After 30mins of walking in every street up & down I finally found the apartment. I was told by the clerk that he will give a code to enter which he did to my surprise there was no bow to enter thew code so I called there 24 hours service & she told me that the box is at another address luckily I found someone from the street at 11.00pm to help me find the address where the box was located, we entered the code & the key would not drop. MALFUNCTION. i had to wait for someone to come & open the door so I can enter into the apartment bldg. Please confirm this exiting event from the management of this property. MADATALI PANJWANI.

Very disappointed in this hotel.
The room was very small for an expensive apartment. They forgot our key at check-in and no advanced warning that the key would be a key box with no attendant. Everything worked well in the room, but it was drab and small and not what is shown in the photos. No maid service, only a few towels and other items were limited in the room. Washing machines were complementary and convenient. For the price, I would have expected a much better place. I won't stay here again. I didn't hate it but it was very unimpressive for the cost. There were a few other issues but I don't recall them at this time. This town is amazing, so stay in the city center if possible...there is so much to do and see there.

I stayed only one night but I can easily imagine spending longer time in the hotel, it is basically a bedsit with its own kitchenette and bathroom. Thre isn't any reception, keys can be picked up from an automated locker. Very agreeable price concerning the overall price level of Zurich.

I had a very nice stay at Swiss Star on Dubsstrasse. The check-in and check-out was easy with the access code, and parking was available right in front of the building. Staff responded promptly to email questions. One slightly annoying thing was the wifi login, which required a code sent by SMS (difficult without a local phone).

You get what you pay for. We only needed a cheap overnight stay therefore we new we weren't staying in four or five stay accommodation. It was a studio apartment in an outer suburb of Zurich. The apartment was clean and very basic. When you make the online reservation apparently you receive an email advising you of the security code to use to allow you to access the apartment keys. Unfortunately for us we received the email two days after our stay. Travelling from Australia we don't have a mobile phone therefore unable to phone the owner. We made our way to Starbucks and asked the staff member if she would be able to make the phone call for us, which she did. Overall the I would rate this apartment at two star.
