Distinctive Zurich city centre hotel

Posted Feb 13, 2016
The location is very good. The no 10 tram from the airport stops just along the street. The train station and the Old Town are just 10-15 minutes' walk away. There's a Migros just along the street - woohoo! - but the immediate area might be a bit quiet for some. The hotel is in a really distinctive Art Deco building. Inside is bright, clean and comfortable if a wee bit more anonymous. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and let us into our room even although we turned up a little bit early. The only minus was a smell of smoke but I suppose we should blame the previous occupants more for that and the staff had used a lot of air freshener to try to remedy the situation. We'd go back.

Very close to the city center

Posted Jan 19, 2016
I had excellent time with my family. The tram station is meters from the hotel. It takes you minutes to go to the old city and the train station and the lake.

Definitely not a Boutique Hotel

Posted Dec 18, 2015
Pros: It's not walking distance to main areas but a tram station, a convenience store and a bakery is just a stone throw away.
Cons: They should take off the Boutique word out of their name. I've stayed in several boutique hotels in Europe before and this is not a boutique hotel.
Location: One will need to take a tram to Zone 110 where the city is. It's less than 10 minutes.
I was attracted to book this hotel because of the word 'Boutique' but when I checked in, it's nothing more than a 2 or 3 star chain hotel standard. There was nothing boutique about it. The rooms are good size compared to a European standard. But the showers cubicle is soooo small. I'm only 5 ft medium build and its small for me. Both my husband and I wondered how a larger person would use it comfortably.

Great Zurich hotel

Posted Dec 6, 2015
Pros: Location and comfort
Cons: Nothing
Location: Right near tram stop and university. 15-20min walk to Zurich Central
Arrived a bit early - no problem. Checked in with a lovely trainee who was incredibly friendly and spoke great English. Room was clean and comfortable and had plenty of bench space. Bed was firm and comfortable. Bathroom small but functional. Had a fridge and kettle. Location is excellent with a tram stop right out the front and plenty of restaurants nearby. There is 2 Coop Supermarkets - one next door and a larger one down the road. Restaurant attached to the hotel was great and reasonably priced for Zurich.

Great base for discovering Zurich!

Posted Nov 17, 2015
Pros: Convenient location, and lower prices than city centre hotels.
Cons: Probably, the price of the breakfast buffet.
Location: Trams connect with everything -- Opera, Bus tours, downtown restaurants and attractions
We were able to reach our hotel easily by tram from the train station, and get to all the places we wanted to go in Zurich on this wonderful public transit system. The hotel was clean and well maintained, and our room was quite comfortable, if a little smaller than we had expected. We got quite a nice buffet breakfast, but at 22 euros it seemed expensive to us. The desk staff was friendly and helpful.

Excellent service, clean and comfortable rooms.

Posted Nov 2, 2015
Pros: Excellent service. Clean, spacious and comfortable rooms. Convenient.
Cons: Hotel seemed understaffed; only 1 staff manning the reception, you might need to wait when he is occupied. But we are there during off-peak season.
Location: Good. Direct tram (8 mins) to the train station, as well as to the airport (30 mins). Supermarket and eateries nearby.
We had a very good and positive experience with the hotel. We arrived in Switzerland on 19th Oct, but will only be staying in the hotel on 28th Oct. We had a luggage in toll that we do not need and was prepared to store it with the left luggage office in Zurich HB for 10 CHF per day. I checked with the hotel and they allowed us to store the luggage with them, and that saved me about 100 CHF. The rooms were nice, warm, clean, spacious and comfortable. Hotel prepares drinks and fruits for arriving guests as well. Location-wise, there's a direct tram from the train station, so it was a convenient 8 mins away from the city centre. There's a direct tram to Zurich airport as well. There're also several supermarkets (Migros and Coop) and eateries around the hotel. Very value for money.

Pretty good for the price in Zurich

Posted Nov 1, 2015
This hotel is about a 20min hilly walk to the city centre. Not too many restaurants close by though there are supermarkets. Bed wasn't very comfortable unfortunately. And the shower wasn't closed in properly so quite a bit of water went on the floor when showering. Also the teaspoons in our room were dirty. Apart from that the room is a reasonable size and quite good facilities.
