Staff are the key.

We stayed at The Renaissance /Zurich on two separate occasions in Dec/Jan -2017/2018 and were very happy with our stay. Not a luxury hotel but more than adequate in comfort, facilities decor and ease of transferring around the small city of Zurich. The front desk staff were exceptional and special mention to Chris who was very kind, charming and went the extra yard to make us welcome. Likewise bar staff and housekeeping. Thankyou one and all. Chris managed an early check in for us for which we were deeply grateful as we’d just arrived on an early flight from the other side of the world! My one regret related to a member of the wait staff in the restaurant during the breakfast buffet. Tall and fair she gave an overall impression of wanting to be anywhere other than where she was. She was unsmiling,unwelcoming and ultimately unhelpful when I asked very politely if my hot breakfast could be zapped in a micro wave as it was STONE COLD and totally inedible. I understand how hard it must be to keep food warm for lengthy periods of time but that does not give the staff the right to sigh loudly and portray an air of righteous indignation when a guest has approached them in a polite way to ask for an essential. This young woman should not be employed in customer service if she remains hostile and unfriendly! Unfortunately just an incidence such as this has a negative effect on the whole brand.

Much worse than I expected for 4/5 Star reviews

Pros: Nice Lobby, clean Car Park.
Cons: Learning to care for their paying Customers.
Location: Location was good for us.
The room for a family of four adults had a WC smaller than a telephone kiosk. The Bathroom and WC were separated, complicating use. We were not told about Parking charges in advance. We ended up paying 98 Francs (£90) for parking the car for three nights. The room was not cleaned on the first day. The room was not supplied with sufficient toiletries, towels, etc for four adults. We had to constantly ask for tiny (slightly bigger than 50P coin) soaps, etc. Overall rating of the hotel and their treatment of their customers is “negligent”. We’ll never visit them again.

Very convenient location to the train and tram stops. Only 2 stops away (roughly 15 mins) from the airport and 1 stop (7-10 mins) away from downtown area with major train and bus hub. Pleasant staff and rooms were well equipped. The hardwood floors were a nice touch but wish they provided slippers since the floor was a bit cold during our December stay. The bar area and restaurant were nice and staff helpful and friendly.

Check in / check out was smooth. They allowed us to check in early. The family room was big and the beds were comfortable. The tram stop and train station is near by. So we didnt have to take taxi from air port or to the city. Since the hotel is in the technopark area, don't expect great views. On the second day they had removed the used toiletries and didn't replenish with new ones. In spite of requesting the customer service when we returned in the evening, they supplied only on the third day. No slippers were provided. Overall, it was a good stay.

The Hotel experience was amazing, and would recommend this place to anyone. Will stay at this place again when in beautiful town of Zürich.

Central and easy to get to most part of Zurich

Pros: It had great ambience and a good decor
Cons: it could be a bit cleaner, i looked behind the chairs in the lobby/lounge and it looked like it had never seen a hoover in its life.
Location: You are close to central Zurich, and the famous Prime Tower the tallest building in Zurich.
overall good, although I had booked through Expedia and per-paid I\was asked for my credit card. When I asked why, I was not given a good reason just told it's hotel policy. hmmm..

Business hotel a little out of town

It was our first stay in Zurich and we were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It's a little out of the way, but accessible by the tram system which stops nearby. If you don't fancy the hotel for breakfast there is a lovely little cafe nearby. This was a good base for our stay

Very nice hotel

Keep in mind, you are a little far from the city center. But we used the tram which was 7 stops to the center.

Nice hotel a bit away from the action though

Pros: The price
Cons: Closer to even a few local shops would be good
Location: Nothing to do nearby
Not a very lively part of town so shops not handy to pop out when you want a bag of crisps or some soda for the room, however, close to a tram stop which was only 10 minutes from the centre of town/ We did not eat in the hotel so can't comment on that but the room was lovely and spacious and a really comfortable bed. Overall, and certainly for the price, it was excellent.

Depending on your needs the location is OK.

Location: There is a Coop 5 mins walk from the hotel. There is a bakery nearby which is OK. There is very good Thai restaurant opposite the Coop called Ly's
Staff were helpful. The car park is very usefully located.
