“The hotel has a cool design and a great rooftop terrace. The location is excellent, very close to the water and within walking distance of the old town. However, many rooms have a musty smell, which significantly affects the overall experience. The breakfast is disappointing: just two small croissants, some jam, a banana, and an apple. There is no proper breakfast area, so you have to eat in your room. Overall, the location and design are great, but the room conditions and breakfast need major……

“The room was nice and comfortable! The only downside was that there was a layer of dust almost everywhere in the room and there were old used towels still hung up on the door from the prior guests which was pretty nasty. Also the walls are paper thin. We heard everything especially being on the first floor. The wine and cheese hour on the 4th floor was such a nice touch and we enjoyed the continental breakfast.”

“Our stay at The Loutrel was amazing. They take excellent care of their guests. Breakfast was delicious every morning, as were the cocktails, the nightly one-bite desserts, and the mezzanine level that was stocked with snacks! I would recommend The Loutrel to anyone considering a stay in Charleston. The location and service can’t be beat!”
