"Basic townhouse with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Can walk to downtown Ferndale. Am very annoyed about the large damage deposit which was charged when I booked months ago and then took nearly 2 weeks to be refunded. Owner says it's up to VRBO. How about a hold at check in?"

"The location is easy to access, right on Telegraph Rd (with a DQ across the street), with local activities available. Once you walk in you will see that the condo is awesome. The host is great with communication. The pictures don't do the condo justice, as there is so much room and is so well maintained. You are 30 minutes from downtown Detroit, if you would like to enjoy a game (depending upon the season), the FOX Theater, Casinos, Greek town or even Mom's spaghetti (Eminem's place). If you...

"We traveled to Detroit to see the Black Crowes show at the Fillmore and spend a weekend together with family. Our stay at the Lumber Baron's Mansion was phenomenal. The location is excellent for any/all downtown activities and there's plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. Our host was extremely responsive and provided very clear communication. The interior was beautiful and well equipped. Highly recommended, will stay here again!"

"Locating the property was pretty easy and there was ample parking. The building itself is a bit older and is showing its age on the outside and inside. You can tell the host is in the process of trying to upgrade some things, but it doesn't impair any functionality. Unless i am booking a resort, where the room is the destination and focus of the trip, I am looking for safety, quiet, and sleep. This delivered all three of those things. "I cannot rate this place high enough. The owner was most generous and kind…even suggested an excellent spot, Toast, for breakfast. The condo itself was welcoming with every possible detail covered! We slept like babies! She quiet! We loved our time in Royal Oak and the location was a perfect little drive to Comerica park for a Tigers game!"

"This place was terrible. Should never have been listed. Ceilings dirty, previously wet and sagging. Carpet ripped and FILTHY. Horrible patchwork pink paint covering dirt and graffiti in the hallway. Host never responded with entry information. It was all bad. Vrbo did set me up in a hotel for 3 of my 5 nights then I had to find lodging for the rest of my stay Awaiting my refund for that."

"Newly renovated was the only positive. Wasn’t upfront about the plugged toilet and tried to mask the smell by locking the door and putting bleach in the bottom of the dishwasher and Lysol. Was promised 2 bathrooms and 4 adults from different families had to use one. A charge of garbage disposal for $50 We were from a different country - where is the garbage going to go. "This property was late minute but it was just what we needed. My daughter wanted to get away for the night and have access to a pool and this stay was perfect! I always overpack cleaning supplies, towels, etc.. but she was fully stocked on everything. Shanae was quick to respond every time I needed her. We really enjoyed our overnight trip.
