“Where this place comes up a little short on amenities and updated rooms, it makes up for in location! Right on the beach at the top of the boardwalk, walking distance to several decent dining and nightlife options. Easy parking, friendly staff, and free breakfast was fine for the price!”

“Ironclad was a wonderful place right in Fredericksburg, close to the town and restaurants. Our room was on the 2nd floor, no elevators, but it was okay. Sadly, the Bourbon room was closed, but the staff was ice enough to let us go down and look at the room. Very cool, would stay again!”

“Room was fine for a one night stop. There is carpeting which seems old but overall the room was clean. We were traveling with two dogs so the low $15 fee was appreciated with no weight limit. Very close to restaurants and gas stations so perfect for some rest and a meal. Front desk attendant who checked me in was kind and quick. Breakfast was minimal but fine for a drink and a quick bite before getting on the road.”

“This hotel location is the BEST BEST WESTERN! I really enjoyed my three night stay. My room was clean and cool. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. This hotel is inviting, welcoming and bright, even the hallway was cool not stuffy. I highly recommend if you’re traveling through Thornburg Virginia to plan your stay here!”

“Our stay was decent overall. My only real complaints were the TV not working in our original room, which required us to change rooms, and later having our room key unexpectedly stop working. The staff was very apologetic throughout and even upgraded us to a suite, which we truly appreciated. The following day, after being out all day and returning with our hands full, our room key no longer worked. A staff member promptly came upstairs and provided us with a new set. Again, this wasn’t the fault……

“The hotel is centrally located to restaurants. It was very clean. It took me a bit to fall asleep because of a barking dog but other than that it was great.”

“Room number 12 smells bad from cigarette smoke. There was no soap in the room. The walls were paper thin. Other than that it was a cheap motel that was okay to get enough sleep to keep driving again. No better than a 5/10 idk what these other reviews are talking about.”
