"Melanie and Ericka were both very responsive and helpful navigating this property. The view of Arenal Volcano was spectacular and worth the winding, bumpy roads to get there. The accommodation was beautiful. We had wished to spend more time on the deck (our favorite lounging spot) and rooftop patio, but the weather wasn't very cooperative. It was wonderful to have laundry facilities available. We recommend this as a great spot if you want to be away from La Fortuna yet close to many of the popular attractions. We really enjoyed a couple of the local restaurants as well, especially La Ventanita Cafe. Thank you for sharing your home with us!"

"Such a cute place tucked away in El Castillo! Beautiful views of Lake Arenal and the property is just absolutely beautiful! The guest house was very clean and well cared for, and they even gave us a welcome basket with some breakfast foods! They have everything you need to have a quiet, relaxing trip and stay in, or you are a half a mile from restaurants, etc.My only disappointment is that it was raining and I didn’t get to hear or see any howler monkeys that apparently are near the property."

"Marty and Nita were fabulous hosts and made sure we were very comfortable. Their property is breathtaking and it’s great to be able to be guided on must do activities. They served a great breakfast everyday as part of our stay and they had several adorable dogs around to pet and gush over. Very close by is a convenience store and a good restaurant. This was an excellent home base for us and we are glad we stayed there. They have a great masseuse on call which I highly recommend and the view from the hot tub is amazing. "

"This house is beautiful. It has the best views. El Castillo is such a cute town, with some of the best food at the shops down the street (and a very good bakery). The house is very close to the lake and Arenal volcano, and about a 30-40 minute drive to the city center where you can do a bunch of different tour activities. The views are incredible! We spent some time every day sitting on the roof and looking over the rolling hills (and the volcano if we got lucky). At night, we were able to see quite a few stars as well, being in a small town. The seats on the roof were so comfy! We were serenaded by birds and frogs, but no traffic noises as it is at the end of the street. Sometimes the neighbor dogs do bark, but it wasn't a problem. We slept well each night. We saw so many hummingbirds as well as other tropical birds that would perch on the trees and flowers near the property. Pro tip, download Merlin bird identification app, we checked off a ton of lifers at this property. Erica the local host was so helpful, we appreciated her meeting us later at night when we were delayed getting to the house. She also made sure that everything was going well for us in the house. The host was very communicative and answered all our questions before we came. The opportunity to do laundry is very helpful in an area prone to rainstorms, and in an area with so many hotsprings, it is nice to wash your clothes. The house was cute, clean and lovely. I would 100% stay here again!"
