This charming property had everything a family could ask for. We traveled with 4 kids with ages ranging from 2-11. The pools were perfect. Kids menu was great (although portion size was huge! I felt so bad wasting half eaten plates but it was a lot). We ate at the Italian restaurant and it was delicious! Pistachio gelato for the win. Compliments to the chef there. The main restaurant had plenty of choices. Likewise great job chef. Room service was quick and worked really well to have pre-ordered the night before on excursion days to have an order brought about 30 minutes before leaving. We borrowed fins to snorkel, paddle board, kayak and daily towels. The kids loves the kids center with movies and activities to break up the sunny, hot day. The front desk staff, maids, kids center staff and waiters were so kind and cheerful. They would greet us each time we passed. All front staff spoke understandable English. I also felt very safe in regards to COVID-19. The staff were always properly wearing their masks. They were frequently cleaning high touch surfaces. The beach on that side of the hotel strip has no waves. One day we rode the shuttle to the Royal Sands to play in the waves and honestly I was grateful for the calm sea by us. The waves were too big to play in at the Sands for my youngest 2 children. I also felt the Sands had a more resort feel where the Royal Cancun was quaint and charming.
