Love that it is off on the north island so you can enjoy some peace and quiet but having the luxury of the scheduled ferry boat to take you to the South Island is really great. The room is very clean and modern. Also the bar/restaurant staff are incredible and they have some great eats. ”

“.Star – Absolutely Unacceptable I did not stay the night. I walked in, saw the conditions, and immediately left to book another hotel. The room smelled strongly of mold and mildew. The sofa was visibly dirty. There were toenail clippings on the stairwell steps, and you have to walk up three flights of stairs with your luggage — no assistance, no warning. The entire property had an unpleasant odor. The front desk staff was rude and dismissive. The office area had dirty dishes just sitting on a……

“The receptionist and bartender Herbert were really nice. There wasn't a lot of staff around. The hotel is simple and a good spot to stay in. It's very close to the town but far enough for some privacy. Overall, it was decent but could use some updates. ”

“The ocean view was great; however, despite the resort pictures showing you could walk right out onto the beach and access the water, you could not because of the sargassum seaweed. There was a dock for water and boat access. Our room was sufficient, but the entire resort was a little run-down. We went without water one day, and went without hot water for two whole days. Most mornings, we woke up to noise from the construction that was going on. The restaurant closed early because it was slow, so……

“The bartender Eddie saved the day. He’s the pool bartender. The food nor the beach did it for us. We checked out 2 days earlier. Although it was nonrefundable we chose to leave and enjoy the city. The sea grass swarmed the beach. It was so smelly I couldn’t smell my perfume daily. For the price we paid the food wasn’t good at all. The best thing on the menu was the cheese burger. Didn’t receive a welcome drink or hot towel. Very disappointing ”
