“Highly recommend finding another place to stay in Coba or elsewhere. This place is clearly gearing up to be sold. Almost no staff around, and limited service. We booked this hotel to use the complimentary bikes and access to spa services as provided in the description when booking as we wanted to bike to the Coban ruins. They did not have these, so we decided to check out the next day. The front desk manager, who had no idea of anything going on, checked us out and said we would be refunded……

“Expedia and Hotel did not refund me the advance payment of the stay. Not even when I contact in advance and explained I was not able could not arrive on time due to broken leg and also issues with Visa... I just wanted and asked to be reschedule... instead, I got no support and no empathy from Expedia first and lastly from the Hotel Akumal... INACEPTABLE treatment to customers.”

“Great, clean unit with a fully equipped kitchen and the AC worked flawlessly. Only issue is the pool is a bit of a walk away at a restaurant a few buildings over. The sargassum situation was much earlier and much worse than usual. There was no way to swim from the hotels beach and they stated they couldn't clear the beach due to it being a turtle nesting area. ”
